I agree with everything you said. Anyone who thinks the warrants somehow screwed any of us out of value is really not thinking about things the right way, or they made financial decisions on an assumption they had no reasonable justification to have.
That said, I want to share MY thoughts on this issue.
The system knows how to play this game. They've played it against thousands of companies over decades. They know what they're doing.
If any of the big players actually want the warrants, they have no intention on paying us for them. They have no intention on pushing the price above $32 if they can help it. In fact, it's entirely possible that the system leaves the price below $32, then BORROWS the warrants right before expiration. And when the warrants expire worthless, THEY, the BORROWERS, can exercise them anyway.
I'm not joking. They can. They would need to settle up at end of day. But if they can push any price spike until after 5pm, then none of the normal people who would try to sell or exercise can do it any longer.
And since those warrants would sit not exercised by apes, the borrowers are free to do it without having to give anything back.
Now I'm going to say something that sounds stupid. But I'm serious.
The only way they cannot do that is if all the REAL warrants are already exercised. Remember the theory: GME was shorted 5x or 10x it's shares outstanding. Warrants were issued. Anyone short the stock becomes short the warrants.
If the above is true, then exercising 10% of your warrants (the ones in brokerages, NOT the ones in Computershare) could drain all the real warrants out of the system.
The very very obvious problem: nobody wants to overpay for the stock. Nobody wants to throw money away.
Well, I'm not going to advise anyone to do something. As OP said, make your own decisions.
But if anyone ever believed that the stock is truly 10x shorted with synthetic shares, and they believe the same is true for warrants, then exercising some portion of your stash and handing money directly to GameStop while simultaneously draining the clearing house of the real warrants might end up causing .... Very interesting results.
Remember, for every one hundred shares you owned, you got ten warrants. If the stock is really 10x synthetic shares, then exercising a single warrant for every 10 you got, a single warrant for every hundred shares of stock you owned, could drain the clearing house.
Overpaying on a 1% increase in your share count could remove all real warrants from the system. And then we get to sit back and eat popcorn and see if there was anything to the theory.
If you ever wanted to hand GameStop $100 before, you can do it. By exercising three warrants.
I'm not telling anyone to do anything, much less anything really really dumb. I'm not suggesting you go exercise your full port and overpay on it all. I'm not suggesting you even exercise half your warrants.
All I'm saying is, the system knows how to play the game. The system has a real interest in not having to pay out anything to the 10x synthetic warrants that exist. They also have a real interest in letting them expire worthless so they can borrow them in after hours and exercise them for themselves.
But I'm going to exercise a few handfuls. Because I know for every warrant I exercise, five or ten synthetic warrants might find themselves suddenly unhedged.

You can't possibly regret your GME investment when you're buying gazillions of shares 😜

Just a theory.
I think GameStop will come back with a new proposal for eBay before the warrants expire.
As you know, the first proposal was roughly 50% cash / 50% GME stock. I think the next proposal will be 100% cash.
Cohen has also talked about bringing more information directly to eBay shareholders explaining why the deal makes sense and what the combined company could look like.
GameStop now has authorization for 2.5 billion shares, up from 1 billion. GME specifically said the additional share authorization could be used for strategic transactions, including eBay.
What if they use that equity to bring in a large outside investor?
I'm thinking a sovereign wealth fund, Middle Eastern investment fund, large family office, or another major institutional investor.
Someone who wants a large position in GME because they want exposure to the combined GME + eBay company.
GameStop could negotiate a private strategic investment:
"You commit $10B to GameStop. We issue you X million newly created GME shares at an agreed price, and the investment closes if the eBay acquisition closes."
Maybe that's $50/share. Maybe $80. Maybe $100. Who knows.
The investor gets a large, guaranteed position in the post-eBay company, while GameStop gets a huge amount of capital without having to buy those shares back later at a higher price.
And then there's the timing.
There are roughly 59M GME warrants with a $32 exercise price expiring October 30.
If GME announces a new proposal + strategic financing and the market starts pricing in the possibility of the eBay acquisition, GME could move above $32.
That potentially puts the warrants in the money, bringing additional capital into GameStop.
So the sequence I'm imagining is:
New strategic plan for eBay → new 100% cash offer → outside investor commits billions for newly issued GME shares → market reprices GME → warrants go ITM → warrant exercises bring additional cash → stronger financing position for the eBay deal.
And there's one other thing that keeps sticking out to me.
Back in January, before anyone knew the target was eBay, Cohen described the acquisition he was pursuing as something that would be “transformational” and said it had “never been done before within the history of the capital markets.”
I'm obviously not claiming this proposed financing structure is what he was talking about.
But if this theory were actually close to what happens, I honestly don't know if we've ever seen a transaction structured this way either — especially if you combine a massive acquisition, a strategic outside equity investment at a negotiated premium, and the potential recycling of warrant proceeds into the financing.
Maybe I'm completely off.
I guess we will see what happens.

They only have extrinsic value, they have literally zero intrinsic value. I think that's the point op is making.
I'm holding mine, as foolish as it is I'd rather let them expire than sell them. I'm not going to exercise them unless it makes financial sense to do it though. That means GME being over 32 at worst.

Weren't they free? Doesn't the money go directly to GME? Where does the money go if you buy shares on the open market? Do you think you're buying from someone that cares about the company at $32.01 and are you doing what's best for GME at $32.01?
sentiment 0.847
Well if you don't think Ryan is going to extend the warrants or that GME won't be anywhere near $35ish plus then sell them now. I mean its a risk play. You were given those and can sell them for profit to buy shares at anytime. Now we are getting close to the wire and you are worried. Sell them if it's causing you that much anxiety and buy shares with the money. Or take the risk like you already are doing and see if it pays off big time. But that's the situation you're in. That's the situation most of us are in. But the decision is for you to make. To risk, or not to risk.

Best case: they’re extended or value change or GME reaches +$32
Worst case: Expire worthless, but didn’t cost anything

7500 shares DRSed, 400 something warrants, to the moon, yada yada, all that shit
Let’s be real. This shit needs to moon before Oct 23rd or get extended.
The reality is that buying now at less than $25 (recently, I have been since the $18 dip) makes sense.
I’ve blown my load more times than I can count. All my shit is in the GME. How the fuck am I supposed to exercise 400 warrants? Before the end of OCT?
What sort of benefit is buying at $32 when I’ve been buying for years at lower prices? Looking at my buy log, lowest purchase was $10.4 and highest was $32.3.
Stock price will have to be higher than $34-$35 AT LEAST for any of it to make sense.

This and similar posts will be removed for a combination of reasons:
- While there is some evidence this account could have been originally owned by RK it's not guaranteed.
- There is no evidence that should this account have belonged to RK in the past that they are still in control of it (arguments that they "surely would have noticed and said something by now" ignore that he could be zen/ offline/ not criminally online)
- Obsession over this website is evidently causing the website owner distress as they have blocked redirects originating from Reddit at various points in time (exacerbating this with constant analysis of changes is clearly escalating the issue)
- "Reddit Legal" stepped in and removed a post that had scalped data from the site to detect changes demonstrating that this has gone too far already (we continue to try to maintain a good standing with Reddit as this is their house at the end of the day)
- RK has numerous times in the past actively posted their position, been visibly active and posted extensively from their main accounts. No one has any reason to believe they suddenly need to be subtle/incognito
- There is strong evidence that a crypto coin pushing Twitter account could be behind this including suspicious "future predictions" of wizard stuff prior to it starting. This could be evidence that the wizard stuff is a hack started as an attempt to build an audience for a crypto scam (Some evidence points to the possibility it's RK's brother who unfortunately is known to push crypto scams in the past)

He still wants to be an activist investor, that's what his whole "I want to be CEO of eBay; fire everyone and run it from my bedroom" talk was. He just hates GME because it's an overpriced turd that he can't convince private equity to bandwagon like he did with Chewy.

Maybe don’t spreading misleading info when you dont know what you’re talking about. He was referring to like 8-9 years ago because it forced him to roll up sleeves and get on board and become CEO to FIX THINGS IN GME. Which he has now done —so he was talkkng about years ago when broken—not now, WHEN FIXED. Use your brain and dont just repeat misleading sh!t
