There are two popular trains of thought on investing: Investing for Dividends vs Growth. You posted in r/Dividends, so you’ll likely also get dividend ETF recommendations. I’ll point you to Bogleheads, as they have a well-laid-out and documented approach to growth investing. The group is named after Jack Bogle, the father of low-cost index fund investing and the founder of Vanguard. There’s an r/Bogleheads sub, but I much prefer their website. You can also choose a blend between growth and dividends.
A good place to start [Getting Started.](https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Getting_started)
That said, you should determine the target Asset Allocation that suits you. (How aggressive do you want to be? How much risk are you comfortable with?) Asset classes are usually split between Stocks vs Bonds. A sample target AA is 80% US stock / 20% International Stock / 20% Bonds – but those numbers can vary by the individual. (VXUS is often recommended as the choice for low-cost international index fund) . Whatever you choose to use, ALWAYS ALWAYS check for transaction fees before executing a trade. ETFs shouldn’t have a fee. Mutual funds might have a transaction fee so you want to check and find alternatives if something has a fee. Also, look at Expense Ratios (ER) so you know how much you’re paying in management fees.
As you liquidate holdings, reinvest the money to build towards your target AA. Consider tax-efficient fund placement and what account is most suitable for a security. Your advisor had your Roth at 50% bonds. IMHO That’s a mistake. Roth should be 100% equities to maximize tax-free growth. Bonds typically belong in a 401K/IRA or similar tax-deferred account
* [Asset Allocation](https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Asset_allocation)
* [Asset Allocation across multiple accounts](https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Asset_allocation_in_multiple_accounts)
* [Tax-efficient fund placement](https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Tax-efficient_fund_placement)
That said, in your 401K I’d say dump CADUX, FTPCX, GIREX, RCIWX, SOFIX. What to do with what's left in your 401K is up to you
In your Roth, I’d liquidate all the bond holdings and put your bond holdings in your 401K. Double check my work (as I looked quickly) seems the bonds are: BOND, FSIG, FTSM, HYLS, LMBS, TOTL and UCON
Once the dust settles with all your re allocation, you can great feedback, if you want, on the Bogleheads site. Asking [Portfolio Questions](https://www.bogleheads.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6212). Note, you must post your portfolio in the format indicated to get feedback from people on that site
Advice to build an emergency fund, if you don't have one yet.
