I'm a Fidelity Private Client Group (DIY) investor.

Here's an email correspondence I've had with my support team. Don't worry about digging into the details of my first email. NOTE THE DATES!
\-------------------------------------
July 27
(team lead) and (team member),
Attached are notices regarding an IRS 990-T filing regarding UBTI for Energy Transfer Limited Partnership Co. for 2025.
The original notice states that ELP is being reviewed to determine whether a 990-T filing is required. The date of the notice to me is April 20, five days after the original filing deadline. The notice states that Fidelity had filed for an extension.
In July, I received notice that funds were needed to cover the taxes due per the 990-T, since the affected account (245209937) had been closed. I responded promptly, transferring funds from account 262660995 and the payment was filed on July 15.
The 990-T filing on page 22 shows a late fee of $90 based on the due date of April 15.
If the determination that taxes were due had not even been finalized by April 20, and an extension had been filed, how can a late fee be charged as of April 15? If Fidelity is responsible for doing the filing, why am I responsible for the late fee? Will my account be credited $90?
Thanks for your attention,
(me)

Hi (me),
Thank you for your email, apologies for the delay.
It took me some time to locate the page you we’re referring to and consequently wasn’t able to ask any teams internally.
After going through your account, I did find the page 22 in your tax documents with the “computation of penalties and interest.”
As this is outside of my scope of expertise, I have enlisted an internal team to gather more information about what that page is showing.
Once I learn more from them, I will reconnect with you.
Regards,

This is outside my scope of expertise, also, but I've undertaken to do some research since nothing is forthcoming from your side. One thing I've learned is that there should have been an "ET 2025 Sales Schedule" worksheet included showing cash/sales proceeds, my adjusted tax basis, my share of partnership liabilities, total gain, ordinary gain, and capital gain. Could you please provide that ASAP?
As for my original request for the reimbursement of the interest and penalty ($98, not $90) it appears you're under no legal obligation to reimburse me. However, since the lateness was due to Fidelity's actions/inactions and not mine, it would be a welcome good will gesture to reimburse.

How do I go about hooking up with someone who will provide some kind (any kind) of service? The "team"'s immediate supervisor, perhaps. How is this performance in any way acceptable at Fidelity? Is this group accountable to no one? Is this the culture? I just want someone to at least tell me, "We're not gonna do anything about this, you've gotta eat the fee," cuz being ghosted for two months really sucks.
