BEcause Meta and NVIDIA already had oracle DB that they wanted to move to cloud, not because they think the product is supperior.

I think it would be just stupid of them not to do it. Like it would be stupid of AMD to just not try to engage the AI market. Oracle is sitting as custodian of the vast majority of high-value data worldwide. Architecturally it only makes sense to run AI workloads as close to the data you need for both training and inference. Moving out of Oracle DB's is not trival and certainly not without significant cost at that scale. This is a much bigger and sticker moat that CUDA every could be and people are diving into it. The backlog is massive. OCI basically is the database layer the world runs on and AI has just exploded the growth for it.

Hey folks 👋
Quick update on **BTC Tracker** — a new version is out, with solid improvements to **UI, security, and portfolio management**.
Some highlights of this release:
* Added **2FA**
* Support for **BTC transfers** (not just buy/sell)
* Fixed and improved **DB migrations**
* Updated **Next.js** to address a **critical security vulnerability**
I haven’t posted in a while, but during that time — driven by community requests — I added several bigger features, including:
* **DCA calculator with goal tracking**
* **Auto DCA** setup
* Portfolio analysis
* A **dynamic dashboard** with customizable widgets (and more)
Along the way, I also **revamped the UI** (mobile still needs some polish), added theme presets, and cleaned things up overall.
You can try it on **Umbrel**, run it with **Docker**, or install it standalone via **npm**.

UK, mid-50s, new/v. late to investing and need to be aggressive to leverage for growth for retirement, having not saved anywhere near enough for a decent standard of living through retirement. Modest DC pensions (SIPP £250k and workplace pension £150k) with 25% of salary going into that (maxing AA) for next 5 years) and small DB pension, all of which will give me a basic income in retirement. I’m fortunate to have received a lump sum which I want to invest and would welcome some sound advice. I’m planning to DCA at £5k per month for 5 years into an all-world tracker in a GIA, with an added tech tilt and a bit more US exposure:
\- FWRG (ETF) - 80%
\- LGGG (ETF) - 10%
\- XDWT (ETF) - 10%
Additionally I’m planning to dump £20k as lump sum into S&S ISA each April as a defensive position as I’m told they are less tax-efficient in a GIA:
ERNS - 40%
INXG - 25%
GILG - 15%
SGLN - 15% (or LGCS - 15%)
LGRTA - 5%
Am I too old to take this much risk? Can’t put any more into pensions beyond what I’m already adding. Don’t want it all sitting in cash either.
The plan is to do this for 5 years (£80k per year) and then no more as everything will have been invested at that point. I’ve got a cash emergency fund equivalent to 12 months expenses and will be mortgage free at the end of 5 years, so hoping I can retire at that point.
Am I mad or is this a feasible plan to create a decent retirement pot 5-10 years from now?
