First, you did that guy durrrty lmfaoooo00o0o0o
Second, I like your points and also I want to bash my face into the wall because I actually also like a lot of what Karp said - like wtf, I am suddenly on the same side as Palantir's CEO!?!? I'm going to shut the laptop after this comment and do some seriously deep self-reflection on this.
Third, back to Karp being right (I also didn't feel like he was that far off the chains reading the transcript, maybe I need to watch the video), but it's not that hard of a concept that I don't understand why more people aren't onto it yet:
1. AI is costing the direct consumers way too much money - WHILST it's being sold at a heavy loss
2. AI is not magically creating new net income for firms and it's not magically/instantly resulting in savings either - at least not on the magnitude of justifying the cost of it (which again, is well below profitability for the AI companies)
3. AI is being used as an excuse to layoff people for various reasons, over-hiring, worthless resources to begin with, and possibly also to help pay for the AI - these people are not being laid off because AI is suddenly making earth shattering changes in these firms
4. The AI companies ARE GETTING YOUR DATA, and wtf do you think they are doing with it if not training their models!?!? What do you think happens if/when these guys actually do get to a point where they can use that to replicate your business and then put you out of business?
5. While this shit show is unfolding unsustainable directions are being taken (data centers) pushing up the price of various products/electricity for consumers. This stuff is hurting consumers. workers, and sooner or later businesses and they're getting paid to do this! Absolutely amazing.
6. One one hand these AI guys are fear mongering about "All white collar jobs gone in 18 months" while in the same interview saying how "new opportunities will emerge"... really? So we're going to openly attack and anhilate all white collar jobs but hey, new jobs will pop up that you can magically switch to mid-career and no, whatever THOSE jobs are, no those jobs we're not going to target for AI training and manipulation, we'll let you keep those jobs. Amazing.
The only saving grace is the wall they are hitting on the data centers, it's amazing wall street hasn't pulled the rug on these companies yet also, but if they don't hit some sort of amazing tech breakthrough the whole thing will come crashing down because no economies of scale are being reached, things just keep getting more expensive as they scale.
