It’s low duration but has more spread risk vs a ST government fund. The best would probably be RBIL—ST TIPs so you’re also inflation agnostic.
PAAA is also an index fund and cheaper and has a bit less AAA- (which insurance companies cream over) so could have slightly less return vs JAAA, but that part can be illiquid so PAAA could outperform in sell-offs cuz insurance companies will rip JAAA’s face off if they have to sell any.
If you like securitized also take a look at PSQA (Palmer Square’s active AAA CLO ETF) or DABS (DoubeLine ABS strategy)
