I remember Peter Lynch mentioned in his book to find small company with big potential to growth if you want to exceed stock index return. Recently, I bought small clip of $FAR$ stock, not for speculation, but for long-term investment. Yes, it is an investment for 5-10 years despite thousands of other stocks in the market. The reason is simple math behind it.
Here is the description of the project:Β [The Project | Ferro-Alloy Resources](https://ferro-alloy.com/ru/the-project/)
The Balasausqandiq deposit is a unique vanadium resource capable of becoming the world’s largest and lowest cost primary producer. A two-phase development is currently planned, starting at 1.65m tonnes of ore per year (Phase 1) and rising to 5m tonnes of ore per year (Phase 2).
CAPEX $355 mio
Life of mine (Ore body No 1 only) - 20 years
Cash cost per pound vanadium pentoxide - $4.35 / lb
NPV $932mio
What I liked is the following: ...Company plans to develop the deposit more slowly, in steps that are more in tune with both the natural expansion of the vanadium market and at a pace which allows the later stages of the project to be substantially financed from the earnings of the earlier stages. This relatively slow development plan can be revised if there is a significant increase in demand, for example, for vanadium redox flow batteries for energy storage.
...The emerging vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) sector is projected to transform the market. CRU forecasts that VRFBs will account for \~76% of global Vβ‚‚Oβ‚… demand by 2040, driven by the global shift toward renewable energy, grid stability, and long duration power storage solutions. This surge is expected to push the global vanadium market into deep structural deficit from 2029, with annual supply deficit exceeding total 2024 production by 2035.
Currently traded with market cap of \~$20mio.
Yes, $20mio market cap of company having in its portfolio project with NPV $932mio!
Current vanadium pentoxide price \~$6 / lb
Yes, we have geo risk, but not to extend company stock priced almost 45 times less its project's NPV. Imagine NPV number if vanadium price will grow 2% per year on average during next 20 years!
I think investing (not gambling) $1000 into this stock and potentially get up to $45000 in 5-10 years is a good option to save money for your retirement.
