I have CERY. Commodities ETF. No complaints as it does what it’s supposed to. I wouldn’t go more than 5-10%. Maybe start on the low end. It’s volatile. Like, every time Trump says the war is over, it drops, then every time Iran says nuh-uh, it goes back up. If a hurricane wipes a major crop, not good. Inflation unexpectedly rises? Good, for the most part. Put simply, will prices for goods (oil, agriculture, livestock, metals, etc) be higher than expected in x number of months (good) or lower (not so good)? It pays a decent dividend, usually yearly in December but might pay more often sometimes.
Other diversifiers are managed futures, which take long/short positions on futures contracts, often heavy in commodities and currencies. And preferred stock, which is sort of a stock/bond hybrid, but in my view closer to bonds as they are primarily a high dividend vehicle.
There’s a lot to consider with these—all the moving parts, tax treatment, and cost.
