CEFS/CCEF are interesting but you’re basically buying a **basket of CEFs**, so you’re adding another layer of fees on top of already fee-heavy vehicles
the upside is diversification + less need to pick individual CEFs, but the downside is you’re paying for that convenience
a lot of people who go this route eventually just pick a few solid CEFs (like ETG, HTD like you mentioned) and skip the extra layer
also worth remembering - similar to CC ETFs, a chunk of that “income” can be ROC, not pure yield
ngl not a bad approach if you want simplicity, just know what you’re paying for. works for me.
