Last year gave away 7% of gross. Largest single item was supporting a missionary surgeon I know personally, followed by my local church, then money to my undergrad scholarship program, Scouts BSA, and then some fairly large cash gifts to my office/support staff. I also give a decent amount of money to two of my siblings who gave up a lot to care for our dying parent. I see it all as money very well spent.
