They could create a simple V3 that uses a different oracle instead of Comet and create another token (that would replace the actual BLND), take a snapshot pre-exploit and compensate the backstop users that got rekt by this new claimable asset.

An attacker flash-loaned **530,000 USDC** from Blend's own lending pool, then dumped **8,015,004 BLND** in a single swap on the CometDEX weighted pool used for Blend's backstop — crashing BLND \~85–90% against XLM. The USDC flash loan was repaid atomically in the same transaction, but the BLND swap was *not* unwound, so the price stayed crashed for hours instead of reverting.
The 8M BLND appears to have been pulled from the pool's own liquidity (a deposit/withdraw round-trip) immediately before the dump — consistent with an AMM invariant exploit rather than a simple whale sell.
Since the crash, a large borrower position has been visibly scrambling — dozens of bot wallets flash-loan-repaying its debt (USDC/XLM/AQUA/sUSD) roughly once a minute for hours, likely trying to avoid liquidation now that its BLND collateral got vaporized.
