I wrote this up on a different thread a couple weeks ago:
I'd suggest reviewing [this document from Morningstar](https://www.morningstar.com/business/insights/research/ecl-landscape), which researches and evaluates ESG commitment levels and which asset managers are best to worst. Basically, which asset managers walk the walk and don't just put out green-washed products. They identify as "leaders" (aka best for ESG): Boston Trust Walden, Domini, Impax, and Parnassus (these are the ones available in the US at least). Calvert is currently owned by Morgan Stanley, so I can't recommend them for SR/ESG purposes, and morningstar lists their ESG efforts as "basic."
With that said, here are some ETFs (where I currently have money) that he may want to look into:
VOTE, PWRD, JSTC, CCSO, GRID.
Parnassus has recently released the PRCS and PRVS ETFs; and Impax has recently released the BLDX ETF. I've bought a small number of these to see how they perform, and may shift more money into them after some time. These ETFs have lower fees than their mutual fund counterparts. But you can also throw money into mutual funds from Boston Trust Walden, Domini, Impax, and Parnassus, but expect higher fees and (recently) lower returns compared to larger broad market funds.
