Some thoughts on BABA and China

Alibaba (BABA) is collaborating with XPeng's mapping division, Amap, to introduce a fleet of self-driving taxis next year, targeted initially at the Chinese market. These robotaxis will feature XPeng's proprietary chips and software, enhancing the company's technological autonomy. Additionally, the service will be integrated into Amap's ride-hailing platform, aiming to provide convenient access for users.

But US stocks have risen multiple hundreds of percent. BABA has barely doubled from its lows.

If BABA goes down for a week straight with only positive headlines, I can imagine it heading back to 100. No one in this subreddit knows what is going to happen, it's all just a best guess

We've seen how **volatile and US-dependant** the Hang Seng is, with even a minor decline in US markets causing the HSI to plunge. This effect surely is **amplified** on value trap Chynese e-commerce and tech stocks like Baba and JD .
Baba has risen a good amount recently (mostly from **de-escalation/peace-talk** related announcements) but it's nothing compared to US defense or strategic stocks over the last few years, most of which are trading at ridiculous valuations and are well overdue a correction or outright crash.
I'm concerned that if a significant escalation in China-US tension happens (e.g., related to Taiwan or trade sanctions), BABA will be back to its starting point once again as geopolitical sentiment turns negative from its positive bias over the last few years. Even though the core e-commerce business might be performing ok. I can't even fathom what will happen to JD, as this never got off the ground in the first place. $10 a share and a PE ratio of 3 anyone?
Maybe I should have sold when the outlook was better and Chyna was investable.

BABA is set to be the top three AI provider in China, where US companies will be restricted for security reasons. Might be top one provider internationally alternative to US companies if Asia and Middle East countries want to diversification.

BABA recent surge bet is on AI. So no. If AI bursts then expect BABA to crash.

Doing a trading challenge with LLMs is like flipping a coin to answer True and False on your multiple choice test.
You really have to be regarded for such event to even be on the news. But then again... many people here and even the journalists making these articles have never studied basic machine learning in a college setting.
But then again... there was the meme of "How Many R's in 'Strawberry'" for a reason (until the issue got 'patched'). LLMs aren't meant for these stuff. Honestly it really does feel looking at these posts that the whole AI thing is currently a bubble and my goodness if the bubble bursts in the short term... I guess BABA will get massacred again. Just my luck in life.
