Hi! I didn’t quit. I was laid off during the pandemic. 2021. With a good separation package. Left the country for a month. I got a car 1 month before I found out I was getting sacked together with 20 other people in the company. Now I look back, what happened to me was at the right time because I doubt if companies are still going to be as generous when redundating people now.
I was an AVP director level, supporting multiple insurance agencies sa life industry. Triple digit.
Tapos pag uwi ko, ayun, ano ba alam ko? Economics graduate. Finance, banking forever, hedging kasi ang insurance. Against risk. So nag aral ako at hindi lang life ang inaral ko, pati non life. Kasi ang daming ahente ng insurance sa Pilipinas pero bakit ang daming underserved and not properly guided that approach to insurance should be holistic. Of course you start with the income earner then move down to whatever the client feels his or her or LGBTQ+’s priority is.
I say if you feel you have the courage, the capital, the purpose (you can create this) and love for customer service and satisfaction of your service or product. Plus you like good and ethical opportunities, temper greed for profit because it’s not all yours as the founder. You get to create jobs. Willing to work more than 8 hours a week and even on Saturdays sometimes when you start up. Scale up and have a North Star. Then do it.
Hindi ako mayaman sa pera. Marami din bayarin. Lalo sa gubyerno. Pero swerte din kami kasi sa Pasig LGU kami registered and active mag support ng entreps and investors sa Pasig. Meron silang supportive na LEDIO.
