I built a safe trade scanner as i realized I do have an edge, I just trade at times when I shouldn't.
Online economic calendars are over populated and don't provide you with the the information that really matters.
I took all ASIA, EURO and US holidays that close exchanges, variable date holidays per year, the REAL big data economic news to not trade around and other things like quarterly expiring derivatives - I then built this into a session based early warning indicator that not only advises you on your current session but the upcoming session too.
It identifies markets effected in current/next session so that you don't accidentally trade when you should be enjoying time off.
Also good as now I can look at my week in advance and clearly see an evening for example that I should not be trading and take the girlfriend out for dinner using the money I would have lost in the market - everyone's a winner.
It's made a real difference to my results and I feel more confident about my trade strategy too.
Roughly it weeds out 28% of potential trading sessions which some may say is too high or too cautious - I say whatever makes me consistently profitable.
Anyway, worth considering as trading less may help your results too.
