thank you for the thoughtful comment. im gonna ramble out a response. reading KYC in your comment made me cringe a little. however... how far off are we from zk-KYC? if it's imminent, it's definitely worthy of considering if that deters bad actors — as long as we are not capping our own knees to compromise on sovereign values.
i think the direction of the guardrails is probably correct. most of the compromises in the past 6 months have been bridge exploits and user compromises. as long as these hacks keep happening, masses are not going to deposit $ into crypto no matter how enticing the APR gets. and it needs to be enticing for anyone insane enough to go through the self-custodial workflow AS IT IS right now 😆

Hey u/Stock_Concert_4510 \- Here's my honest (albeit biased) opinion for you.
1. You're a new trader with a small account. Keep your capital. Focus on learning AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE from every single one of my youtube videos. These are totally free, and if you're scrappy and hard working, you can learn most of what you'd learn in the courses. I have 3,500 free videos on YouTube. It's a lot to go through, and the courses are certainly more organized and concise, but for where you're at right now, learn as much as you can while saving money.
2. Skip the DAS Sim and trade with 1 share of real money. it will save you $150/mo in DAS costs. I'd use Webull since you can setup the hotkeys you like.
3. Don't skip on collecting your data. You need to collect the data form every trade you take (even with just 1 share) to learn about your areas of strength and weakness. Analyze that data as often as you can.
4. Use the Webull Top Gainer scanner to see which stocks are moving each day. It's not the same as the Day Trade Dash scanner, but you're on a budget, and you can get by with them.
5. Stick with the above for the next year. You will know so much more than you know today. If during that time you decide you want to try using my scanner, or try one of the classes, by all means, give it a shot. But you have a lot you can do for free first.
That's what I'd suggest to anyone who is in a place where money is tight.

Here's what I would do differently
1. I would use a simulator to test out different strategies before putting real money on the line. I would also actively look for somebody who was really good trading the market I wanted to focus on, and I'd learn as much as I could from them. It doesn't mean you need to spend money on a course or a mentor, but if you can find somebody you look up to, learn as much as you can from them.
2. I would start learning about trading psychology right away. The mental game is JUST AS IMPORTANT as the skills and strategy.
3. I would track every single trade I take so I can review my metrics regularly.
4. I would find a group of likeminded traders I could bounce ideas off of and who could help hold me accountable when times get tough.
5. I would NOT quit my day job until I had at least a year of profitability with real money.

VOO is one of the best index investments you can make. It's returns are outstanding, however, you think of it's return as a Cannonball Run, but rather a horse and buggy. AS others have stated, let is sit and cook, especially if you have 10+ years until retirement.
If you ever get discourages about VOO, look at the performance in March 2009 vs today. Then go look at the growth of that fund year after year since. Add money to it every month, whatever you can stomach for risk, then look at it no more than every 6 months. Perhaps purchase some SCHD shares for passive income to supplement and you are on your way.
Remember - A.B.B. Always Be Buying.

Meta is the future. It will ultimately be the most valuable company in the future. It can easily fight off any competitor from the market structure and financial ability it has. Any falls now is just noise and should be ignored. BUY AS MUCH META NOW AS POSSIBLE
