Robinhood doesn't allow you to place a market order for stocks and options at 9:30 AM due to extreme volatility.I call that's bullshit and extremely incompetent. Volatility is what I need to make money from option.
Robinhood execution for futures trading is trash. If u place a market order, 50/50 u will not get the exact price the moment you click the button. Their platform is a joke.

War should only happen between 9:30 AM to 4 PM ET. After that everyone goes home for the day with their stuff, and repeat the next day.

Microsoft will be red by 10 AM and there will be 1000 posts asking what happened. There was an earnings report, that's what happened. 

I had this very same issue trying to trade SPX right off the open.
Best way I found is to look at SPX 0dte options around 9:25 AM Eastern (overnight session ends 5 minutes before market open).
Look near the money and find the strike where put / call midprices are roughly equal and that's your estimated SPX price at 9:25 AM.
If you want something more precise, then use put-call parity near the money:
**SPX 9:25 AM estimated price ≈ Strike + Call midprice - Put midprice**
btw I also make a slight correction by looking at ES futures around 9:29 AM Eastern:

I see we've entered the part of the cycle where everyone acts surprised the line didn't keep going straight up forever. That mouse is all of us refreshing our portfolios at 9:31 AM.

Still holding the stuff I bought during the last "once in a lifetime buying opportunity" six months ago, so this is just another Tuesday. The real play is logging off and checking back in a week to see if the margin call hit yet.

Don't mid-week 0DTE expire by next morning coz OCC clears every day or is it only Friday? That sounds insane if the dude below in comments is correct and they expire on Fri->Mon only. 2 days worth risk for QQQ

The "exercise it now even though it expired OTM" choice expires an hour and a half after the market close; if the option holders didn't contact their broker by then, they lose the option to exercise. It doesn't matter what happens after the 1.5-hour span.
Understand that there's no guarantee that holders *didn't* choose to exercise, even if it was still OTM at the 1.5-hour point. If a holder saw a trend that looked good, they could have exercised the option.

Neither. Programmatic exercise-by-exception only happens if the option expires ITM at the end of the expiration trading day. The computer doesn't care what happens after that; it takes an explicit instruction by the holder to do an after-hours exercise on something that was OTM when the market closed.
