You can get your per-cartridge price down to $0.30 vs 1.10+, with minimal effort and expense (Chop saw, jig, four-in-one trimmer). Scavenge 5.56 cases now. Raven Rocks Precision sells .308 bullets affordably if you’re willing to buy 1000 at a time. Most reloaders are built like that though.
Powder, primers and projectiles are always costly, but my last run cost me 600 to make 2000 rounds of 300 AAC Blackout, versus a tracked retail cost of at least $2,200 plus sales tax.
