If the shares were given as a bonus, i.e. part of total compensation, then it's possible they were Restricted Share Units (RSU).
If so, the value of the shares at the time of vesting is their cost basis. Your STBX earned income in that amount when the RSUs were deposited in their account.
Fidelity would know this basis, or at least they have a display showing the acquisition event that should report the shares' initial value.
If not, it's definitely included on the employer W-2, possibly (but not 100%) called out in Box 14 in addition to being absorbed within the total in Box 1.
So before you assume zero cost basis and pay unnecessary tax, do some digging on this info.
