Perhaps one of the 'superpowers' of ADHD is the ability to hyperfocus. If I could attribute a single thing to being able to graduate with a Masters, it would be that I have the ability to endure pain better than other people. If it weren't for the 'forget to eat', 'stay up all night hustle' that ADHD affords me, I would not be where I am today.
Oddly enough, this same “superpower,” when applied to trading, becomes counterproductive. For years, I tried trading longer, thinking that if I just stared at the screen harder and took more trades, I would eventually draw more from the markets. It only ever led to over trading, and revenge trading.
NOT A SINGLE TIME IN 7 YEARS, has that ever worked for me, even once. It's a very frustrating paradox, where in order to even learn how to trade, I had to lock myself in a room and learn all of the intricacies of the market: Options Greeks, the expiration dates of futures contracts, or how a pip differs in value between the EUR/USD and the USD/JPY.
It just felt so natural to assume that the same hustle and grind mentality would need to be applied in trading. Fortunately -after an embarrassing amount of loses- I finally learned to journal properly. I started tracking the time of day that I trade. The data was screaming at me that my window for trading is not market open, it is not the lunch time lull, it was not market close. It was from 9-10 AM CST.
Now that is all I trade. I'm up 16% for this small account challenge. I took one trade on SDOT and made 2%. Profit Factor 3.29.

Don't let Anger win, don't overtrade! Nothings worse that stewing about a green day that turned into a red day - all weekend long.

I'm off to the gym for leg day. See you all on Monday.
