Just a quick one today, yesterday was incredibly news packed with President Trump's sudden departure from the G7 Summit, when asked by reporters if he was leaving to broker a peace deal between Israel and Iran, he denied it, claiming his reason for leaving early was "much bigger". The President then spent most of the day in the situation room, before emerging with defence secretary Pete Hegseth, airing the idea of US involvement in Iran and that something might happen "very soon", we also got the news that the US air force and navy had been deployed to the area. Safe to say the situation continues to escalate
Late in the day we got this post on X from the Iranian economy minister, Ehsan Khandozi, writing that:
"Starting tomorrow, for 100, days, no oil or LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) tankers will be able to leave the Strait without Iranian approval ..."

The effect of escalation around the Strait of Hormuz is already being felt, with tanker rates soaring as much as 57% just yesterday from the day before. The top gainers were VLCCs, rates have as much as doubled since last week from \~$25k/day to north of $50k/day now
