Wouldn't you just create a synthetic put? Using long term options to reduce theta when the plan is a short play just increases ROCR for little upside IMO. Either someone has an edge on the trade and the direction works, or it doesn't.
It's doubly worse on this Put because of the volatility skew and bias of the market toward positive returns long term.
