A piece of worthwhile info from JIFX: The Naval Postgraduate School independently listed MicroVision as [Experiment A-01, “LiDAR Real-Time Mapping."](https://nps.edu/web/fx/upcoming-jifx) Validation that Movia Air+ is an actual functioning field-demonstrated system processing resulting data “directly to ATAK.” That means the military doesn't have to adopt an entirely new user interface—Air+ **plugs right into** their existing tactical operating environment.
This kind of integration is a big deal. [The Army describes ATAK](https://www.lineofdeparture.army.mil/Journals/Air-Defense-Artillery/ADA-Archive/2026-E-Edition/Recommended-Tactics/) as part of its common operating picture and has discussed sensors and AI systems feeding information into the Tactical Assault Kit ecosystem. This potentially moves MVIS up the chain from being a sensor supplier to a perception-data supplier, [which MVIS notes](https://microvision.com/insights/lidar-industry-insights/beyond-the-air-jifx?fbclid=IwY2xjawT11lJwZG9mBWV4dG4DYWVtAjEwAGJyaWQRMWROS3BTcXBmSTN2OUZ2N0RzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEehEuO-SJl0PlRHGj2dkoFyGrGyBZLVeBHxq6L2D31aGbaFOuEj7P9SuXxBIs_aem_v5mv0OAFsMhx68-9xszZ0g) in terms perhaps less clear to many investors. Lidar-on-a-drone has a more limited revenue ceiling than becoming a military perception layer across multiple autonomous assets. The latter is exponential... with custom sensing/ASIC development built in—a network of sensors + perception + integration.
Does it mean near term revenue? Can't answer that. The list of use cases/value chain noted is long enough to potentially accelerate advancement. \[J.A. Green conversion turf—into a funded evaluation or prime-contractor relationship.\] Note: [ATAK interoperability](https://tak.gov) potentially puts a little more oomph into the Blue UAS pursuit making it easier for evaluators and a sponsoring unit to understand MVIS as a deployable capability. [The 2025 Refresh](https://www.diu.mil/latest/blue-uas-refresh-list-and-framework-platforms-and-capabilities-selected) selected platforms and components after operational evaluations and *then* sent them through NDAA verification and cyber review. When **someone wants your technology** approval is easier. So instead of looking for MVIS to submit Movia Air for Blue UAS, what you're looking for is, “A named Blue-listed UAS manufacturer or DoD unit is sponsoring MOVIA Air through Blue component qualification after successful ATAK-integrated testing.” That's what successful commercialization in the defense vertical will look like... it would tell us **who wants the product, what platform it goes on, and that someone is actively helping remove the procurement barrier.**
