Yes.
So I have my main ISA, but for fun I have a GIA. Here i buy ETFs. This is money that I can afford to hold onto long term.
So for example I buy say HIUS ETF, after I make profit I sell it. I made near 4.5k the other day. I sold it all and the first 3k is tax free, the next amount i pay higher rate CG tax.
My wife can then use the funds in her t212 account and we buy again amd dell again.
The funny thing is I want the price to go down so I can buy low, but then I have those in my ISA long term.
If I am caught out, then I can wait it out for a year or two if needed.
Problem is price fluctuation not that great.

Yes, and empty the rest in the next tax year. There's no reason to be using a GIA until you've maxed out your ISA.
