I think what’s most shocking is how everyone thought AI was gonna kill Google
The company that’s been making their own accelerator chips since before OpenAI even existed, that solved self driving, solved protein folding, and last but not least INVENTED GEN AI
I mean I’m not complaining haha. I bought a lot in the 100s.
It’s just crazy that that moment existed at all. I had to have like actual debates with my friends — who work in top finance roles at Goldman etc - of the basic facts of the situation.
Everyone was convinced of a *story* whereas the very public and easily accessible facts showed quite the opposite.
