I think that’s how I feel here. I didn’t mind it being linked but I didn’t ask for it and didn’t do it last time he asked. I did it this time because it brought it up again. And he said “nothing is changing except he can get copies of statements and make changes when needed”. The fee definitely wasn’t disclosed. And maybe it WAS in the hundreds of pages of disclosures provided to me when I opened other accounts with him YEARS ago, but the recent form to link the annuity was just one single sided page, no fees were mentioned onit. and the fee structure for this account is different than the fee structure for my other accounts. I didn’t have to sign anything new for him to open this new IRA since I already have one with him, just a form to link the annuity.
I’ve never had a problem with him before. He’s a CHFC and takes good care of my family. I was mostly curious if the fee was standard for accounts like this with no real servicing activity being requested or done. But it doesn’t sound unheard of after reading replies. So I’m not mad at him. Was mostly just curious if I shoulddd be upset. Ultimately lesson learned I’ll just ask more questions in the future.
