BOOM goes the whine-a-mite! TM’d , you can’t use it.

Well, everyone situation is different but in late 2005 we sold individual stocks (\~$150K) to pay off our mortgage (5.5% -14 years remaining) in NJ. Family, friends and my now ex-financial adviser thought it was bad idea and *"you can make more money by investing it".*  We wanted home security and we hated paying interest (just look at a amortization table), so we did it.
Then BOOM banking crisis - a couple of friends and neighbors got into foreclosures scenario due to one or both spouses being laid off. Are you jobs secure?
You cannot predict the future, but having home security was a stabilizing event for our family as my children saw the effects on their friends.
Expenses went down and we then started fully funding our children education and plus extra to help them later and continued to invest. I retired early 13 years ago and have been living the good life.
Good Luck in whatever you decide. The peace of mind was priceless.

Sounds like ATV Offroad Fury when I was bored in an open world map mode and just drive to the end of the map until BOOM, my character hit an invisible wall and practically shot out of a cannon in the opposite direction at the speed of sound.
Unfortunately, that also got boring after a while.
