Maybe take a look at the one year chart for BETR.
AURC ( the SPAC ) announced the business combination vote date ( August 11 ) on July 27, 2023. AURC jumped to $30 per share. Vote was approved on August 11, AURC was $35.
AURC announced ticker change to BETR would occur August 24. AURC was $17.50 on August 23.
BETR shares opened around $1.98 on August 24, closed at $1.15, and have been under $1 ever since.
Probably not the example you had in mind.
