Man that's brutal timing with CIRO taking over. I'm not in finance sector but work for airline so I've seen similar situations when regulations change - companies always seem to leave people hanging until last minute.

From what I understand CSC still has some value even with transition, but maybe worth reaching out to few employers directly to see what they actually want now? The material being basic makes sense though, most certification courses are like that - they test if you can memorize basics rather than actual skills.

$1500 for digital textbook does sound like robbery especially when they knew about transition coming

I enrolled in the CSC last summer before CIRO was announced. I debated on purchasing CPH before the end of the year so that I could have both but most employers told me they aren't sure what's happening so they wouldn't bother paying for the course.
I was wondering if there's even a point in taking the course at this point or if I got played by the CSI. It's insane that they didn't even try to give a notice to people who are enrolling in the course, that they are being taken over by a different company in a few month just so they can milk $1500 for a digital textbook with no actual teaching and a useless certificate.
If anyone knows anything about this it would be much appreciated. Ive read about half the content and I honestly found the entire thing to be a joke. It's all basic common sense that any finance or econ person should know and am debating if I should even bother to finish the course.
Thanks
