I agree generally and thematically. I would suggest consideration of Aecon as alternative to WSP simply because from a sovereignty perspective it has less interests in the US and is a leader in nuclear construction. BIRD also supports major infrastructure projects. For materials I suggest neo performance materials checks the box for rare earth, and HUD Bay minerals is a great alternative for copper. I think there are some good options in the energy infrastructure space particularly in terms of pipeline companies such as Keyera, TPL and Pembina.

It depends on the deal but here are a few scenarios:
A) If we can conclude a Digital Service Trade Agreement where the EU allows its data to be processed in Canada, then we may benefit from greater data centre demand which would benefit natural gas producers, natural gas pipelines, construction companies, engineering companies. So names like AECON, BIRD, HAMMOND Most direct passive ETF exposure would be [ZIN](https://decodeetf.com/etf/ZIN.TO). Not perfect exposure admittedly. Telecom companies MAY also benefit from the talk about sovereign internet backbone connecting Canada, EU and Asia bypassing the US. Telesat will benefit from Arctic defense cooperation with the Arctic states, but I think the stock has already priced in a lot of that.

B) The European Investment Bank is setting up an [Ottawa Office](https://www.politico.eu/article/european-investment-bank-chief-heads-to-ottawa-amid-warming-eu-canada-ties/) to specifically invest in critical mineral projects so miners with Canadian-based projects (not mines elsewhere as that would defeat the point of supply security) would likely benefit along with supporting engineering companies. A lot of these projects are owned by major mining companies where Canada is part of their portfolio, so direct exposure is harder to come by - perhaps junior miners? But you can also get indirect exposure through engineering companies and construction companies that would be building those mines and providing support services so AECON, WSP, BADGER, AtkinRealis. Most direct passive ETF exposure would again be [ZIN](https://decodeetf.com/etf/ZIN.TO).
C) All these projects, if go ahead, would need a lot of financing. So Canadian banks with large EU presence could benefit from cross-border financing, EUR/CAD hedging, cross border trade financing. This is largely RBC.
D) For Defence, SAFE is probably the closet we could get but most beneficiaries beyond CAE, Magellan Aerospace, and Telesat are not yet public - most are still in start up stage like Dominion Dynamics, a lot of the drone companies, portable nuclear reactors for the Arctic, etc.
