Hi all, I am a South African who has been living in London, UK for 11 years. I'm turning 40 very soon and wondering if I should open a Lifetime ISA. I know Trading 212 does not offer this, but as I have a cash ISA with them I thought this sub might be a good place to get some advice/perspective.
My husband and I would like to buy property soon, he is 41 so is not eligible for the LISA. Full disclosure, we are not super high earners and know we are limited in what we can afford to buy. We are in the early stages working with a mortgage advisor to see what we can afford. I also only have about £20k in savings (my husband has a lot more) and trying to figure out ways to get the most out of my money in terms of investing. My low savings is due to various factors: the expense of moving to the UK; being stuck in a low paying job for a number of years despite my best efforts to find something better - which I am now in, thank goodness.

Someone suggested to me I invest £4000 of my savings in the LISA to get the £1000 bonus, but there are 2 concerns I have.
1. We would like to buy property in the next year, and I know the LISA can only be accessed to purchase property after a year, so I am worried I might not be able to use the money or bonus for this - although I know there is also a chance we might *not* buy property in the next year, so then that worry is moot.
2. As I do not have a lot of savings in general, I wonder if it's worth locking away £4k that I cannot access until retirement (assuming the money is not used for property).
My gut feeling is telling me to rather invest the money in other ways, but I know the return on the LISA is better. I don't know if I should just open a LISA with the minimum amount (I think it's £1) and then I have it, just in case.
I'd be interested to hear others' thoughts, just to gain a different perspective. TIA.

Okay i get it. This year's data is manipulated. So how far back does the manipulation go or do they do it selectively in only some years? Only bjp started this or congress used to do it too? Any blogs or some websites where i can read it in detail would be really helpful. TIA
