🇮🇳 Greetings from India!
I'm from India, and I've been following Waqar Zaka's WEEX TradFi Challenge from the very beginning. I was an active member of his Telegram community during the challenge, and I personally witnessed the trades being shared in real time. I even took some of the trades myself while following along, which made the entire experience much more educational than simply watching from the sidelines.
The attached trade history is one of the reasons I stayed engaged. Instead of making vague claims, the challenge documented trades across BTC, ETH, LINK, XRP, BNB, DOGE, SOL, and many other pairs over multiple days. Having a complete trade record to review made it easier to study entries, exits, and overall performance.
During the challenge, the publicly shared audit showed around 74%. From following the updates in the Telegram group, I also heard Waqar Zaka explain that the figure was lower after fees and other deductions compared with the raw trading results.
Another thing I'd like to mention is WaqarZaka.net . I joined the course because I wanted to improve my understanding of crypto trading, and I found it genuinely useful. What I like most is that it isn't something that was created once and forgotten new educational content and improvements continue to be added, so it keeps evolving with the market. Whether you're new to crypto or already trading, having access to structured learning alongside a community makes a big difference.
One thing I respect about Waqar Zaka is that he has built a community where people can learn, discuss markets, and follow challenges together instead of just relying on hype. Seeing people from different countries participate shows how far the community has grown.
As someone from India, it's great to see a crypto educator from our region building an international audience. I hope more people discover WaqarZaka.net, explore the educational resources themselves, and make up their own minds after going through the material.
The Excel sheet attached contains the publicly shared trade history from the challenge. Feel free to review it yourself.
Wishing Waqar Zaka and the entire community all the best for the next challenge!

If you want to buy ADA buy it, as someone who bought and held non-trivial amounts of Cardano 5-6 years ago and eventually sold it’s been interesting.
I also bought a large amount of SOL and Matic around the same time. If the three the one I was least convinced of because of the tokenomics was SOL.
Go figure.
Buy ADA if you believe in the project, don’t buy ADA if you want to make significant profits over the next two years. That’s not to say it won’t have a good chance of bouncing back but there far better tokens to look at.
If I was going to buy and hold something now for two years I would look at Hype, the base token for the Hyperliquid exchange.

fair, that's a legit callout. direct answer: I hold SOL and would keep holding at current levels, mainly because on-chain usage (real DEX volume, stablecoin settlement, fees paid by actual apps) has kept climbing through the last two drawdowns instead of collapsing with price like it did in 2022. that's the part that changed my mind vs treating it as a pure beta bet on crypto sentiment. not a "guaranteed 10x" answer, but it's the honest reason, not a dodge.

imo the framing of "does SOL make sense as an investment" is kind of the wrong lens by itself — those vol/drawdown numbers you pulled are accurate but they're backwards-looking survivorship stats from a market that's matured a lot since 2021-2023. the -94% and +920% years happened in a much thinner, more speculative market. liquidity, institutional participation, and actual on-chain usage (payments, DeFi TVL, stablecoin volume) are all structurally different now than they were during those swings.
the more useful question is whether the *usage* thesis still holds — is stuff actually happening on-chain (real transactions, real fees paid, real developer activity) or is it purely speculative flow. if usage keeps growing independent of price, that's a very different setup than 2021 where price was basically the only signal. if you're holding, that's usually the actual reason people give — not "SOL will 10x again" but "the chain does something nobody else does as cheaply/fast, and that's not priced in yet."
worth digging into recent network stats yourself (active addresses, DEX volume, real economic activity vs total volume that's mostly bots/wash trading) rather than relying on historical volatility numbers, since those describe the past cycle's market structure more than the asset itself.

I’ve been looking into Solana again and trying to judge it not only against other crypto, but as an investment in general.
Let’s assume you’re growth-oriented, have a long time horizon and can handle a lot of volatility. Historically, SOL has obviously had huge upside, but the risk has been just as extreme.
Over the last five years, the numbers I found were roughly:
* 18.5% annualized return
* 81.5% annualized volatility
* 96% maximum drawdown
* more than three years below its previous high
* Sharpe ratio of around 0.55
The yearly returns are even crazier. Around +410% in 2021, -94% in 2022 and then +920% in 2023.
So yes, the upside has been massive, but you also had to be willing to watch almost your entire investment disappear and hold through it.
I’m mostly interested in the situation today. Do you think Solana still offers enough upside to justify this level of risk, or are there now better places to put money if the goal is long-term growth?
And for those who own SOL, what is the actual reason you’re still holding it?

Exactly but please DO NOT swap it inside Phantom/Solflare as they take insane fees (that did cost me 2% APY)
Just use an aggregator like https://flips.excharnge/ and select SOL > mSOL.

I heard a lot of good things about XLM, but I don't know enough about that or other alts to have a strong opinion. Do XRP and SOL count? I also find myself attracted to SYRUP for fun but wouldn't put any serious money into it.

I’d rather light my money on fire than buy any of the alts you listed.
I’d buy and do own significant BTC, ETH. All others (maybe SOL or I’d have to research XRP) I’d just hold USDC.

Lmao, $200k? Says who? Do you have a crystal ball? I'm telling you, dude. BTC literally had a president openly promoting BTC. BTC had an enterprise like Strategy pouring billions into it. Weekly buying. BTC was one the most hyped crypto. Yet, BTC had small rois in comparison to a boring stock such as XOM and Nvidia. Plus alts such as XRP, SOL and TRON had bigger rois than BTC's. Also, TRON is only 28% from its ATHs whereas BTC is down about 51%, brutal!!!

Yeah. You BTC maxis are all nitpicking hard too. "Alts are bad, just stick with BTC, bruh" XRP, SOL and many other alts blew BTC out of water if you bought mid term and sold heavily during euphoria.

Index ETFs are structurally a good idea — the problem is how the index is constructed.
**The good:** Diversification, passive exposure without managing keys, and lower cognitive overhead than picking individual assets. For institutional and retail investors who want crypto exposure without deep research, an index ETF makes sense.
**The concern with market-cap weighting:** BTC dominates at ~55% of crypto market cap, so a market-cap-weighted index is basically "mostly BTC with some ETH and a long tail of noise." You'd get near-identical exposure to just holding BTC + ETH directly but with more complexity and management fees.
**The "barriers to entry" question is interesting:** The T.Rowe list you shared includes SHIB and DOGE, which tells you inclusion criteria aren't purely about fundamentals — market cap and liquidity matter more to ETF structurers than tech or utility. That means well-funded meme coins can crowd out serious infrastructure projects. Not ideal.
**Concentration risk over time:** The assets that survive regulation, remain liquid, and have SEC-acceptable custody solutions will keep winning ETF inclusion. That list probably stabilizes around 5-8 assets long-term, not 15. New chains need to clear compliance, custody, and liquidity hurdles that take years.
**Verdict:** Good product category, execution matters enormously. An ETF tracking BTC/ETH/SOL with equal or risk-adjusted weighting would be more interesting than market-cap soup with SHIB in it.
