I’ve been holding SOL bags for 3 years.
I’m still adding though.

Trading

Have about $8k in ETH and some other coins just sitting there doing nothing. Want to stake but the options are confusing as hell.
**What I'm looking for:**
* Competitive APY (not gonna stake for 2% when I can get 6% elsewhere).
* Flexible terms (don't want my ETH locked for 2 years).
* Supports multiple coins (ETH, SOL, AVAX, DOT at minimum).
* Actually trustworthy (not gonna disappear with my money).
* Ideally regulated somewhere.
**What I've seen so far:**
Coinbase - 3-4% on ETH which seems low? But at least they're legit and regulated.
Binance - higher rates (5-6%) but after all their regulatory issues I'm hesitant to lock funds there for months.
Kraken - around 4-6% depending on coin, seems solid but haven't tried their staking yet.
Lido - decentralized option, heard good things but feels more complicated than just staking on an exchange.
**Main concerns:**
After Celsius, BlockFi, and all those other "earn" platforms that went under, I'm paranoid about locking funds. How do you know an exchange won't freeze withdrawals or go bankrupt while your coins are staked?
Also some platforms have like 30-90 day lockup periods which sucks if you need liquidity fast.
What do you guys use for staking? And are the rates even worth it vs just holding?

I moved everything to ETH TAO. I just started in Aug and lately my guts been saying ETH an SOL. I was like 🤔 ok! Reallocated the BTC to ETH and SOL. I squared 95% of my ETH at 2900 then it goes up to 3300 so I took the SOL swapped it around to grab the rest of the ETH I needed and some TAO. Was getting worried with BTC up to 95,000 from like 87,000 last week. Then it just dropped to 92,000 so I’m feeling good look at ETH everything’s tanked hard ETH moved 100$…..

BTC, SOL, ETH. Dca, hold. That's all. It will go up again, hell we are at 92k now. Don't mess with weird shit coins and don't invest money you can't burn in your back yard right now. It sounds like you broke the "don't mess with weird shit coins" rule and sadly that means losing money most of the time, it's just blind gambling and you'll always convince yourself "it can still go higher" then that turns to "it will pump to last months high again and I'll sell". Nothing but a vicious cycle of losing money. Like others have said, time in the market always beats trying to time the market. 

Trading comes and goes in waves… I’ve had my ups and downs just like a lot of people. Use trading as supplemental income right now and reassess in a couple of years. I almost quit my job a couple of years ago to trade full-time. Thankfully, I did not make that decision because I then had some downs on my trading journey and it would’ve been a bad choice leaving me SOL.
Take a couple of years to ponder on it, and if you are still successful in trading then make the decision later.

I don't think it's true and I'll give you an extreme example: If the price of ETH drops by 99% so does the TVL because it's linked to the price. If the price of SOL doubles so will it's TVL and it's percentage will increase accordingly despite no changes in activity.
If you want to like at the true TVL, you have to look measure it in ETH, SOL etc. instead of $.

People always say that, but I am just here for the 60% yearly SOL yields lol

It's becoming clear silver miner stocks are being kept down, just like the precious metals themselves. Might be a good time to step in. However, whenever you buy stocks, make sure you get the physical paper stock certificates. Otherwise, you are not the true owner of the stock, only a beneficial owner, while Cede & Co legally owns "your" asset. When SHTF, if you don't have certificates, you're SOL: The Great Taking.
