Go for digital gold instead, more easy to liquidate when needed. PAXG is the key via OKX

Somebody said, I have to time it right to buy BTC. How about gold-back ones like PAXG? Pde kaya maging hedge to against the devaluation of fiat?

something i will be very careful about, lease yield isn't free, someone's borrowed the metal and has to return it. that's counterparty risk, same shape of promise you're trying to get away from with stables.
plain tokenised gold is the cleaner version. PAXG or XAUT, sitting in a vault, no yield but nobody's borrowed it. downside is it just sits there idle.
if you want it earning, selling covered calls on it pays you without anyone holding your metal. different risk than leasing, and in your terms not just waiting for the shoe to drop

Gold can gap over a weekend while the physical market's closed, but the token trades 24/7 off whatever price feed it uses, so liquidations can trigger on stale prices during fast moves.
Aave's PAXG proposal set 70% LTV with just a 75% liquidation threshold, only a 5% buffer, which feels thin given that gap risk. I'd want more like 50-60% LTV to have room to breathe.
You're also trusting three things to line up at once during a crash: the price feed, the smart contracts, and the custodian actually holding the gold.

the redeemable part matters way more than the apy tbh. if you can't actually redeem 1:1 for the real thing whenever you want, you're not holding gold, you're holding someone's promise about gold. PAXG and XAUT you can redeem (with kyc), a lot of the newer tokenized-yield-gold stuff can't say that.
