This is exactly what we do. We spend as much time as possible in different discord groups, where the blind lead the blind, to learn the most simple strategy with some cool acronyms like SMT, CISD, FVG,ORB so we can lose our 9 to 5 mentality and just trade one or , if needs be, 2 hours a day on a simulated propfirm account (buy more when they are in discount) and make those 10K days. Just keep listening to your favorite influencers and you'll get there. Best tip, once you start struggling, it's best to buy their overpriced pdf and video mentorship. Aim for the stars man.

Yeah I don’t get people that’s hating on a strategy, there are good and bad traders that use MACD/ORB for example. It all comes down to execution I believe.

The problem is the bots post each side of the argument. Classic interent where you can "research" (yes, air quotes) and find supporting argument for anything.
"Its not psychology, you need an edge"
"Its not an edge you need, it's psychology"
"You shouldn't interfere with trades"
"You should move your stop loss"
"You shouldn't trade with a stop loss"
"R/R is meaningless, it's all about win rate'
"A solid R/R is all you need"
"Forget R/R and chase the trend"
"Trend following doesnt work, use mean reversion"
And my favorite "ORB strategy is king". Until it isn't.

i have found the orb strategy \[on NQ \] only works if you trail and move to breakeven quickly eg when 0.5r in profit. The reason is that often that 0930 move is fake but there are times price will keep trending all session from 0930 and if you dont catch those when they occur, once or twice a week, then you wont cover the losses on the fake break outs. now i trade minimum 7r targets not ORB and 90% of the time i just exit at 10r. nothing worse than watching a 10r profit come all the way back to zero.

I use 20x200 sma and 5 min ORB thats it.
Problem is I win consistently however when I lose I always lose more because of emotional/ revenge trading.

Spot on. ORB works great after 2019, but before that not so great cuz of less vol.

95% of my trades are pre-market, market open and ORB just after open. I am consistently profitable and have designed a very mechanical system for myself.

I found one ticker and learned all I can how it moves and what news affects it. I check all of that news and forecasts and everything in the morning before I go to work and make my trades based off of VWAP, ORB and volume. Usually in and out of my trade at the latest by 0945 EST. My original goal was to make more than I do in a day at work and I've been hitting that pretty consistently and then some. But getting out early also leaves a lot of missed money. Like yesterday if I would've stayed in til close I would've made $17k, but I prefer green consistently rather than getting greedy. So I only ended up making $1200.

Main thing I'd check is parameter sensitivity, if 15 min OR, EMA length, stop size, and skip rules only work in a tiny range, it's probably overfit. Also test it separately by year and regime, because NQ ORB can look amazing in high-vol periods and then bleed slowly in chop.
