LTC is respectable for its fair launch, robust security and decentralization, but it simply not fast/cheap/scalable enough to compete with other next gen PoW (or PoS) coins.
Top 5 fairly launched PoW coins (ordered by top speed, scalability, and low fees):
1. KAS
2. XEC
3. BCH
4. LTC
5. XMR
These are all more trustworthy than the ocean of corpo PoS L1s, but only the top few would be capable of scaling to worldwide use.
Not to mention niche use cases like micropayments, carbon tracking, smart contracts, etc. Then KAS becomes the super obvious winner. Or XMR if you need privacy now (otherwise KAS will eventually develop that too).

BTC is number 1, it's not going anywhere.
Doesn't mean LTC can't pump too.

Honest answer: it is good at being boring. 13+ years of uptime, 2.5-minute blocks, sub-cent fees, listed and liquid everywhere - it works as a transfer rail. MWEB gives opt-in privacy at the base layer, and merged mining with Doge means the Scrypt hashrate securing it is larger than its market cap alone would buy. It is not a 100x narrative, but for "move value cheaply, with optional privacy, between venues" it does the job. The ZEC run was a privacy-narrative trade; the LTC version of that trade would need MWEB adoption numbers to actually grow, and those are still small.

I appreciate the "shill" here man. That's how I found out about luxx months ago. It's been the best performing crypto stock by a mile. When LITS came out LUXX was like $0.15 and LITS was $9. Now LUXX is $0.45 and LITS is $1. LUXX also smoked LTC and Bitcoin too. Please keep these quality shill coming lol

I don’t even know if there is such a thing anymore as emergencies. It’s just life, really and one thing after another. And for most people. The few who seem to have it all together in a neat tidy package and well planned out for decades with a fund to ‘tap into’ when hiccups happen to them are not the norm.
For me, I live close to the bone and will be always. Budget and below my means. My retirement is a pension + SS + the savings I’m stacking. And I’ve pushed retirement out recently to 67 and beyond instead of 65 (in 3 years) because I’m focusing on my home and securing it as my LTC facility.
I don’t have an emergency fund. I have a savings account for life’s blows.

He isn't the only one, there were several other posters on here that were arguing with me about this.
This was a reply I made to another poster more or less arguing with me about the same thing pertaining to buying ETH vs. ADA right now.
"Let's say we go into 2027; the market is starting to get into a bullish environment and BTC is trading at 90k+. Let's say ETH at this point is trading at 4k, so a little over a 50% move from here. What do you think would happen with the rest of the alts? In this environment, do you see ADA at best matching ETH's performance by only being at 30 cents?
Very short term price action is impossible to predict and pointless. For instance, in the fall of 2024 ADA was trading around 35 cents while ETH was at a similar price to where we are currently, about $2400. After the 2024 election hype ADA traded as high as $1.30 while ETH peaked at about 4k.
I'll use XLM as an example from that same time period. Right before the election it was trading around 10 cents and then climbed above 50 cents at it's peak, so a 5x.
A weak example would be LTC, it was around $65 and peaked at a little over $100 in this same time period. Another one is Bcash, both of these had very little price movement for years leading up to this, at least relative to the rest of the alts out there.
The whole point is that when we do get bullish phases with alts, ETH leads and many of the alts with smaller market caps will OUTPERFORM it. IF someone were looking to do this, they need to be able to identify the correct time to be buying.
I'm not saying people should do this, the point is that when ETH pops hard relative to BTC the broader alt coin market follows along even stronger. It has nothing to do with fundamentals of the coin lol.
If you aren't aware, virtually all alts, including ETH, are primarily driven by hype and speculation. Picking the horse that runs the fastest is honestly going to come down to luck. What is NOT luck is identifying when these alts are low and where they could be making large gains for profit.
What you are seeing now is NOT a bullish phase in the market, it's a bear market rally. This is not the same as the Q1 2024 ETF pump, the Q4 election pump or the spring 2021 alt season. When this occurs again, and it will, you will see what I'm describing here play out."

Exactly. If you want a optional privacy coin that has longevity, cheap transactions, and had no premine; go with #LTC. The founder bought his own coin and later sold what he bought to not be accused of it being centralized.
LTC has been operational for fifteen years. I’ve personally been using it since 2016 without a single problem.
If you want a non-optional privacy coin get #XMR by swapping for it with #LTC or #BTC.

They got back to me after about 24 hours and said it would be another 3 business days, which puts the timeline at Monday, September 14th.
I’m expecting to regain access to my money - $5,020 in USDT, LTC, and USD no later than Monday, September 14th.
I hope that Binance.us meets the deadline you have set for yourselves to complete this “KYC” review. I’m already verified advanced having provided face scans and uploaded ID.
I will follow up on Tuesday, September 15th if I still do not have access to funds.
I am taking screenshots of these posts in case they are taken down, for the sake of transparency.

Bro, I'm talking about right here and right fucking now with ADA. The guy has these coins locked in at the time we are writing on here.

2024-2025 we never had an alt season. However, in an environment like in the spring of 2021 EVEYTHING pumps hard when a wave of liquidity enters in with FOMO and euphoria. LTC in the spring of 2021 trading above $400, it's highs from 2017. I'm not saying to buy LTC, but the point is that everything does this under this types of market conditions. If you can spot when it's a good time to buy alts you can make moves.
With this particular thread, you could buy ADA around 20 cents and hold this for a period of time. When the market has some sort of euphoria, which eventually will happen, you can bet this will pump. We can speculate all day as to what this could do, but buying at this point IF you wanted to would be solid.
In my honest opinion, alts collectively are for speculative moves and swing trading, including ETH. They should only be touched when looking at it with this lens AND with the goal to swing trade this for profits. If you can identify when it is the correct time to be buying them you'll do well.
For instance, I didn't touch ETH at all in 2022-2024 because it's pairing to BTC was still strong. However, in the spring of 2025 it dropped under .02 to BTC, it's cycle lows with it's BTC pairing that go all the way back to late 2019. I made a lump sum purchase here. Now, I could have been buying ETH at a similar price in the 2nd half of 2022, but it's pairing to BTC at the time was ABOVE .05. If I had bought ETH at the time I would have watched this slowly bleed compared to BTC over those years. For instance, 10 ETH bought at 1.2k in late 2022 could have bought me roughly .75 BTC. That 10 ETH in the spring of 2025 would have been only worth .2 BTC.
Most people don't understand this, which is why they either get wrecked by buying alts at high $ valuation OR where they would have made better gains just buying BTC instead.
