The GameStop NFT Marketplace was built using Loopring's Layer 2 technology. While GameStop announced a major partnership with Immutable, the marketplace ultimately ran on the Loopring zkRollup scaling solution. That was the whole idea, fast ans cheap.
Because it was easy, other companies built NFT marketplaces on LRC to compete with opensea.
Either way, it doest really matter at this stage. IMX also has changed their trajectory.
Once again, if it actually happens and they make it work, awesome, if not, it's just another tinfoil.
