I had a fraudulent charge happen while I was on vacation... contacted elan and typed out what happened and the situation (was on a road trip in LA for a few days and drove back home and noticed another charge made down in LA) got an email back that they would look into it and they would send another card to me. The next day I got refunded and they resolved the case.

Imagine living in a place like LA paying some of the highest taxes in the country where the streets are covered in needles, sidewalks blocked off by the homeless, police don't show up ever, and ambulances can't get past traffic.
High taxes don't necessarily mean you get any of the amenities you pay for.

Everyone talks about following congress trades like you can act on them. I wanted the real number for how late you actually are, so I measured the gap between the day each trade happened and the day the filing became public.
**10,870 House trades, 127 filers, filings dated January 2025 through September 27 2026.** Every one of these is off the House clerk's own PDFs, and its all free to read without an account in [Agenticks](https://www.agenticks.ca/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=autopilot&utm_content=stockstobuytoday), so none of it is my math on private numbers.
**Median gap: 28 days. Mean: 53 days.**
The mean being nearly double the median means theres a long tail pulling it, and there is:
* 40.9% of trades were filed more than 30 days after the transaction
* 15.4% were filed more than 45 days after, which is past the STOCK Act deadline
* 1.9% took more than a year
* the worst single one took 3,698 days to surface, which is ten years and change
* only 6.8% showed up inside a week
The spread between individual filers is the part I wasnt expecting. Taking anyone with 20 or more trades on file, **Julia Letlow (R, LA) runs a median gap of 274 days across 255 trades.** **Marjorie Taylor Greene (R, GA) runs a median of 3 days across 282 trades.** Same chamber, same rule, same deadline, and one is reporting inside the week while the other is most of a year behind.
Its a bit like the hygiene rating stuck in a restaurant window. The paper is real and the grade is real, you just have no idea whether anybody looked in that kitchen this year.
So a congress trade landing in your feed isnt early and isnt on time either. By the median its a month behind the fill, and theres roughly a 1 in 6 chance the filing was already late by the clerk's own deadline when it went up.

This is a weird party as everyone of these stocks is trading below it's high and at compressed forward P/E, and I agree that the economics don't make sense. It's hard enough to rationalize the LA Lakers selling for $19 billion and we're supposed to accept that a $5 Trillion company exists.

I dunno, i worked in LA for a year and my port skyrocketed from waking up 20 minutes before market open. If im waking up too early i have plenty of time to doubt every move i wanna make, whereas waking up at market open i see the gap ups and gap downs and i jump right on in and profit.

There is the desert I go there every year for Indian Wells tournament lol the beaches the scenic drives so many also I like the fusion of culture in LA and adjacent even though there is the homelessness problem lol
