I also feel like with all the delistings it just makes their job more difficult, the only way they can really do any meaningful analysis with Monero is with deposit & withdrawal data from exchanges, and custodial wallet providers. And the more exchanges and wallet providers delist & remove Monero support the less data they have to link transactions and wallets to IP addresses, names emails phone numbers ID/Passport details, browser useragents device info etc.
But if they can inconvenience the coin out of existence, psyop the community into slacking on improvements, it makes their job a bit easier.

1. You can track the balance of your cold storage wallet without needing to expose your cold storage wallet
2. carrot is quantum proof
3. resistant to janus attacks
4. resistant to coin burn attacks
5. better payment ID confirmation
6. point of sale terminals can generate their own sub addresses without contacting the cold wallet
7. did I mention it's FREAKING QUANTUM PROOF?!

Here’s the thing though - if you had given ID you would be hunted today.

Best would be if it was able to verify by Palau ID.

Hello there! Thank you for reaching out to us on Reddit. We are here to help you out. In the past, some deposit methods (especially bank transfers or certain fiat gateways) required you to include a reference code or payment ID to ensure your deposit is correctly credited to your Binance account.
Recently, Binance has streamlined or changed some deposit processes, and for many payment methods, a reference code may no longer be required or displayed.
You may follow and appy these steps before making a deposit on Binance:
1. Check your deposit method:
Go to Wallet > Fiat and Spot > Deposit.
Select your currency and preferred payment method.
Follow the instructions carefully—if a reference or payment ID is required, it will be clearly shown on the deposit page.
2. If no reference is shown:
It usually means the payment method you selected does not require a reference code.
For example, some third-party payment providers or instant payment methods automatically link your deposit to your account without needing a manual reference.
3. Double-check your transfer details:
Make sure you use the exact bank account or payment details provided by Binance.
Use the correct amount and currency as instructed.

Thank you. \^AE

Does bet105 require extensive KYC? Scanning ID and Proof of Address? Those are the two that I mostly get concerned about.

I had to send in more pictures of my ID and do a video verification. They still have it locked down until tomorrow supposedly. I didn't even send that much

Yep, I got a case ID too. They asked me to check when my last transaction was and see if it seemed right, but I don't think they actually said anything about that themselves.

No worries - I just want to make sure we're distinguishing between "I know an amount went out of the wallet, here's the block it went out in" vs "this amount was sent to this address in this transaction ID" - Carrot doesn't do the latter, and can't do the latter.

If you use regular exchanges, your swaps are tied to your ID. That is where most privacy leaks happen.
For more privacy, use a self custody wallet and swap from there instead of inside a KYC exchange. A privax wallet in a browser extension helps because it isolates your activity from your main wallet and avoids reusing the same address everywhere.
You still need to be realistic though. On chain data is public. Privacy is mostly about reducing linkability, not becoming invisible

I spend Bitcoin almost every day as money
I prefer using Bitcoin when I spend money for these reasons :
1) never worry about ID theft or cc fraud
2) Never worry about being overcharged or double charged
3) some merchants give me discounts because they save on merchant processing fees
4) Bitcoin does not have fx fees or worrying about the spread when I travel
5) easier to secure than fiat
6) supports my investment when I support the ecosystem making it more likely to appreciate in value
7) very private (of course I dont spend onchain as that would be absurd)
8) Just as easy to use as a credit card and if a merchant doesn't take bitcoin (I can already buy most things for bitcoin ) than I can just spend fiat as I am not forced into the false dichotomy of only using Bitcoin or only using fiat and can use both

Biometrics aren’t as secure as you would think tbh. I know when I used android and got hacked, I found my fingerprint and Face ID in the files the malware had hidden away. The authenticator seems pretty solid though.
