Is this bot broken? The title says to short HYPE yet you write a aparagraph saying you are going buy spot HYPE?

Ill bring back an old school one for yall OGs. CORE/CVault Finance/Delta. While they have definitely pissed off all the people who gave them a $100M treasury(value during last bull run, now around $60M), HYPE took most of their ideas and built their platform, along with 100s of forks from others. The difference though is the locked liquidity and mechanisms to create value for the users, devs and platform. Delta flopped bc of the very reason you mentioned. They broke Uniswaps trade algo and Hayden Adams booted them from the platform, showing they are centralized at their core also.
The rub here is they haven't been heard from in years. Theyll trade the treasury every once in a while but nothing on TG. I was an OG investor in CORE LP1 and went heavily into Delta. There is a lot to be mad about from that perspective but the treasury is still there. If they were scammers, that money would have already been gone. I've chalked my money as a loss, but I do hope they stay true to the statement that they'll launch during the next bull run. And while BTC was strong this last one, ETH never sustained ATH.
They are ETH maxis so I would guess in a couple of years, theyll come back and launch the project. Until then, it's a bunch of bullshit of nothing but id keep it on your radar once ETH season pops off.

I'm doing something similar, but instead of copy-trading, I try to reverse-engineer and understand the algos. LLMs are surprisingly useful for reverse-engineering, so I built shadow clones that logged every decision. You can't completely decode a black box though, but you can learn a lot for your own system by observing algos that actually have skin in the game.

There are lots of issues with simply copy-trading imo. I can give you an example. I found an amazing wallet like 3 months ago I believe, it had one of the best equity curves I've seen. What it basically did was fire a basket of coins, and then, unless it flattened early on some signal invalidation, it had a position manager that repaired the trades. So if it was down by x% in a coin, it increased the position, effectively reducing MDD (yeah, basically like a mean-reversion martingale gambler but more sophisticated than it sounds). The "edge," aside from the specific MR regime this worked, was the entire repair mechanism plus the selectivity.

So if you hypothetically had your own circuit-breakers in your system, deviated and didn't copy the wallet 1:1 by emptying the clip as it did, then you would be negative. Another simple example could be the HL fee structure, if you try to copy a wallet that has a lot of HYPE staked, generates a ton of volume and operates at the lower fee bracket and it's strategy is fee sensitive then you'll be negative as well.

You can certainly do filter these out in the wallet selection but I believe it's better to design your own system based on what you observe profitable wallets are doing and your capital constraints. HL is a brutal venue, PvP at its finest.
Good luck.

I think HYPE is a prime candidate for shorting yes. The question is can you tolerate being liquidated a few times before your call is actually the right one? Because 99.99% of the times the market makers will hunt for long or short and move things sideways before you get the actual piece of the pie going down heavy from 50 billion market cap to probably 5 billion if not less.
Shorting/longing is gambling and the house will always try to flush you/liquidate you.

True, but I'd like to make a little from HYPE in the short run and then swap it back for even more AAVE.

the title says "go short" but the post body says you want to buy HYPE — just clarifying which direction you're thinking.
on the thesis itself: Hyperliquid's revenue is directly tied to perps trading volume. geopolitical uncertainty (Iran, oil prices, risk-off sentiment) typically does two things simultaneously: broad crypto prices drop AND trading volumes spike as people hedge/speculate. so HYPE's business actually has some counter-cyclical protection that pure speculation plays don't.
AAVE isn't a dead coin fwiw — it's been generating consistent protocol revenue and the lending market is real. the "bro it's 2026" comment undersells it.
main risk with HYPE is that a lot of its valuation reflects expected future exchange growth, not just current fees. if volume stagnates or a competitor takes market share, that premium compresses. neither AAVE nor HYPE is an obvious "safe" trade in a geopolitical risk scenario — they just have different exposures.

shorting crypto based on geopolitical tensions is high stakes gambling, especially with a volatile token like HYPE

I'm just gonna say that there a glitch with HYPE right now wherein if you send your coins to 0xfefefefefefefefefefefefefefefefefefefefe your coins become part of a huge pool which you may want

100%. Bro its the first cycle for this coin. Just from what happened with SOL last bullrun (not comparing the two coins). It will probably go all the way to 10$ or lower. There is no way this HYPE coin of diluted value of 55 Billions doesnt crash hard

Do you think that HYPE is a good risk to go short on now that it appears that the IRAN war is about to really ramp up?
