I could just buy BTC, or tokenized stocks like GOOGL, AMZN, or MSFT. They’re actual businesses making real money, and over time their business performance gets reflected in the stock price.
But with ETH or SOL, I just don’t see the same connection between the growth of the chain and the value of the token. ETH and SOL can grow massively in terms of usage, activity, etc., but so what? How does that actually translate into value for the token holder?
I’m not saying this to shit on SOL or ETH, but if you’re DCAing into them while being underwater for years, aren’t you ultimately hoping that the market makers push the price high enough so you can dump your bags on someone else?
BTC at least has the absolute scarcity narrative. There will only ever be 21 million BTC. With SOL and ETH, I honestly don’t see anything comparable. And there’s nothing guaranteeing that either SOL or ETH will even revisit their previous ATHs in the 2027–2029 cycle.
And honestly, just look at the weekly charts of ETH and SOL. The price action is awful. A genuinely strong asset shouldn’t look like that. Compare it to BTC, gold, or any good company stock — those actually look like assets with a real long-term thesis..
