It is possible to swap BTC to ETH with [https://flips.fi/](https://flips.fi/), however, wBTC is custodial.

Just select Bitcoin > Ethereum, click and swap. It takes seconds and it's fully decentralized.

ETH is still getting punished, and Ethereum sentiment feels like it is back in the gutter - maybe even worse than April 2025.
The EF pivoted 1 - 2 years ago after community pressure and brought in new leadership, but with some of those people now gone and insiders venting on X, it feels like they may be slipping back into the same patterns that frustrated people before.
One issue that does not get discussed enough: ETH is now held by a lot of tired holders.
After years of underperformance, every rally runs into a wall of holders waiting to exit, de-risk, or rotate. That creates overhead supply. A lot of people are thinking, “I’ll sell at $4k,” and that mindset alone makes $4-5k harder to break.
I still believe in Ethereum, but ETH needs a much stronger asset narrative. Good tech is not enough if the market has lost conviction in the asset. We also need less leadership drama and a less fractured community.

**Stop watching the stablecoin fight. The real CLARITY prize is ETH derivatives.**
Every headline I see about CLARITY frames it as banks vs Coinbase, or Dems vs Trump's grift. Both fights are real but neither has anything to do with Ethereum.
What ETH actually gets out of any version of this bill currently in play:
- Permanent commodity status under CFTC, so the SEC threat is dead
- Legal basis for staking ETFs, which is the thing that actually moves the needle
- A clean path for ETH-backed notes and derivatives
- L2 tokens get a roadmap to commodity classification as they mature. Tbh this only encourages actual mature Stage 2 L2s, the rest are screwed and thats good for Ethereum Ethos.
Nobody is fighting over any of this. It's in every draft. The House passed it last July with this stuff intact. The Senate Banking markup last week passed it with this stuff intact. The fights are happening on the edges.
Section 404 (the stablecoin yield thing) got settled on May 1 with a Tillis-Alsobrooks compromise. The only real remaining battle is over ethics provisions aimed at Trump's family crypto businesses, and that fight resolves one of two ways. Either Dems accept symbolic language and the bill passes, or they hold firm, Trump vetoes, and we restart in 2027.
Neither outcome changes the ETH provisions. They're locked in.
What actually matters is the calendar. Galaxy Research has 2026 passage at 75% with August as the realistic window. Polymarket has Dems retaking the House at 78%. If this slips into the fall session, midterm politics eat it alive and we're looking at a divided Congress trying to renegotiate everything in 2027. Worst case is Lummis's 2030 timeline, which she's said out loud.
Staking ETFs alone could unlock tens of billions in structural ETH demand from pensions and insurers who can't touch ETH today. That's the prize. Everything else is noise.
Stop treating every Coinbase vs banks headline as an ETH story, and stop treating Trump's grifting as a reason to root against the bill. We need the bill done. The version doesn't matter much. The timing matters enormously.
Watch the Senate floor calendar through August. That's the whole game.

Not because it is magic. I liked that the Spot DCA flow was simple on BYDFi and the multi-coin allocation was enough for a BTC/ETH plan. I still would not treat any exchange as long-term custody, and I would not run a strategy I do not understand just because the UI makes it easy.

We needed an L2 built by the EF that was Ethereum **AND** ETH aligned. Coinbase sells the ETH fees they make from the sequencer.
I have 1000+ TXs on mainnet and only a few dozen on L2s. Bridging is cumbersome, liquidity has often been bad on DEXs, and I bet people with hundreds of millions or billions don't completely trust the L2s.

I agree with that.
The reason I ask is that Vitalik naturally will know things we don't and he's arguably the smartest person in the room.
I myself am not just blindly holding ETH. I have spent thousands upon thousands of hours researching what ETH is as an investment thesis. My net worth is 90% in it. I am an ETH maxi and if I don't know (and I am at the extreme end) then the average investor doesn't know what's going on. Maybe I've run out of ideas and this is me trying for one last bit of alpha.
I am hopeful the tokenization part sends us to Valhalla. It's coming.

I see people complain about BitMart withdrawals but honestly I’ve never had trouble. been doing withdrawals for over a year with coins like ETH and BTC and everything clears quickly.

If Vitalik truly does not care about the price of ETH, then I think that is a reckless and detached position to take.
He has lamented that Ethereum has not improved people’s lives. But forget improving lives for a second - some people’s lives have arguably gotten worse because of ETH’s poor price performance relative to other crypto assets.
The bad PA, brutal volatility, and years of underperformance have created real stress for many ETH holders and stakers. It has also hurt their purchasing power at a time when the dollar has been devaluing and the cost of everything keeps going up.
You can say, “That’s on them for investing in ETH.” Fine. But many people invested in ETH because they believed in Ethereum. They believed in the asset, the ecosystem, and the people building it.
Our phone bill just went up $20 on a supposedly fixed plan. That is the kind of backdrop people are living through. Prices keep rising everywhere.
So when an Ethereum developer, founder, or leader acts like ETH’s price does not matter, it does not come across as noble. It comes across as disconnected from the reality of the people who actually held, staked, and supported this ecosystem through years of pain.

The future of the network is, in fact, quite promising. However, I am not sure whether its use as infrastructure for capital markets will necessarily lead to a significant increase in the price of ETH. Perhaps the days when one could make high profits in a short time with more mature coins like ETH are over.

Which fucking cycle? As if it is predicted that it goes up. Look at the fucking charts. Only BTC and ETH went up and down. All the others including DOGE and XRP had one hopium pump from Trump's election and from the rest it is flat with a sharp decline in the beginning.
Tell us you are a grifter without telling us that you are a grifter.
Keep hoping with your clarity act, but remember the rest of the world already has a clarity act.

yeah but you cant take a loan against it so its less productive. It's similar to stETH, its just more productive than regular ETH.
but again, why go through the trouble at all? just invest in productive assets if you want yield. the point of holding BTC is the massive asymmetric upside not the teeny tiny dividend...

I don’t own all of these (unfortunately) but I think the only truly valuable projects are BTC/ETH/SOL/HYPE/TAO. Everything else is trash. Retail isn’t coming back if all the speculation is going to AI stocks and their relatives. The five I mentioned serve enough important functions to get institutional participation regardless of retail’s disappearance.

fair. I do kind of think this was always expected tho. The whole drive for ETH dev for years has been mass expansion of capacity which decreases demand for ETH with lowering congestion fees. It basically deletes the commodity use of ETH cost wise.
Of course, this was done with a long term vision of ETH eventually becoming valuable as a commodity again through induced demand.
