I just can’t wait for the lawsuits against medical and subsequent legal sources. OH! And now that it’s answering 911 calls, the resultant deaths/injuries that result. While AI is certainly capable of data management (in theory) its ability to invoke nuance is limiting and damaging. The nuance that comes from gut feeling, the nuance of tone, inflection, and intent. As a physician I can say that occasionally simply gut feeling was more pressing than algorithmic approach has led to life saving interventions or treatments. An approach AI cannot comprehend. I understand, for some, that AI can feel incredibly helpful. But as someone who interacts with (by EPIC design) daily, it has fallen short, and those who have placed undue trust in it risk treating it as sound logic and fact, when it is not sound reasoning at all.
