HYPE is still fairly new and is up about 77% since launching in late 2024. Yes, that means it may still have a lot more upside.
But it also means massive pullbacks are still on the table.
Every major crypto has gone through brutal crashes at some point - BTC, ETH, SOL, ADA, DOGE, ZEC, and plenty more. HYPE will not be immune.
Pullbacks are part of the game, especially with newer assets that have not been fully stress-tested yet.
How many times have we seen this same story?
People convince themselves it is the next Bitcoin or Ethereum and destined for the moon. Then you actually look at the tokenomics and go: “WTF?”
Tiny circulating supply, massive future dilution, insider allocations, unlock schedules everywhere. We have seen this movie so many times in crypto.

Great. I've never seen any anti-Elon or anti-Tesla stuff here in northern Europe except for occasional news when DOGE was a thing because people don't like Trump. Most don't use Reddit here either so correlates about right.

What? 10k per second is amazing. As I said, Bitcoin can only do 6. BCH can do 150, DOGE around the same. There are a few centralized coins like Ripple that can do fast transactions, but those premined coins are not cryptocurrencies.

i missed DOGE because I kept asking where the cash flow was. i missed SHIB because I thought 'community' was just a nicer word for exit liquidity. most of the time, that skepticism saved me from getting rekt. But it also made me blind to something crypto keeps proving: sometimes, raw attention becomes its own kind of infrastructure if it survives long enough.
So, PENGU. my default reaction was to ignore it (and i still think most of these are junk). Another NFT-adjacent token, another community promising the moon. but I kept seeing the Pudgy Penguins brand pop up in places that weren’t just crypto-native. Toys in Walmart. A mobile game with over 500,000 downloads in its first couple of weeks. this wasn't the usual pattern.
The thing that made me stop and actually look closer wasn’t a price chart. it was reading about their browser game, Pudgy World. The reviews all said the same thing: it feels like a normal game first. It doesn’t force you to connect a wallet or understand gas fees to have fun. Most crypto games I've seen feel like a DeFi dashboard with a cute mascot. this felt like the opposite: a regular consumer product that just happens to have crypto rails somewhere in the background.
That’s a different model. They’re not trying to onboard people by teaching them tokenomics first. they seem to be trying to onboard them through toys, games, QR codes, and a community identity. The weird thing is, the less it screams 'Web3,' the more seriously I take it as a Web3 onboarding product.
Now, lets be clear. That does not make PENGU safe. For what its worth, this stuff is in a tiny, high-risk corner of my research, completely separate from my core portfolio. Definitely not financial advice. The token is still a volatile asset, down around 87% from its peak. A fun game doesn't cancel out market structure. A strong IP doesn't mean the token is a clean buy. There are still token unlocks to consider—CoinDesk reported on one in April that was nearly 1% of the supply—and futures positioning that can push the price around. Adoption doesn't save you from buying at the wrong price.
It just changed how I watch these things. when I was tracking the recent activity, I had Binance open for volume, Coinbase open to see the U.S. crowd, and BYDFi sitting on the side like my 'is this thing spreading to normal retail menus yet?' screen. That is not an endorsement of any platform. it is just how I watch these weird community assets now.
My take isn't 'buy every meme with a cute mascot.' It is that I no longer automatically dismiss a community asset just because the first version of its fundamental story looks silly. sometimes the silly-looking thing is the part normal people actually understand, and that in itself is a kind of blind spot I'm trying not to have again.

Yup and DOGE was just a cover for the intel op. They got everything after all, IRS records to firearm registration to VA records to voting records.

Hyperloop, solar roof tiles, that tiny tunnel under L.V, the whole Xitter shitshow, xAI that can undress people against their will, the bogus DOGE theater that cost the government more money that it saved, drama with OpenAI and the lost lawsuit. Ketamine use, apparently drug use in public, influencing elections with basically illegal means like lotteries, the Hitlergruss. The guy has become a trainwreck, started with the boys in the cave in Thailand and his feud with one of the rescue divers.

It was a LOT of fun back then! I created multiple milk crate miners with GPUs and mined BTC, LTC, and bought a whole bunch of DOGE way back then.
I don't do this anymore (only have a little BTC left, all my LTC got stolen by BTC-E, and sold most of my DOGE), but it sure was surreal to be in it at the very beginning.

Most meme coins are created first and try to build a culture afterwards.
PINEOWL is one of the few cases where the meme already existed long before the token.
The original Pineapple Owl image dates back to 2013 and became part of internet meme culture years before crypto got involved. Then in 2023 it resurfaced heavily on TikTok and other platforms during the surreal meme wave alongside things like Smurf Cat and Strawberry Elephant. What makes this interesting to me is that:
\- the meme has real history
\- the original creator is still involved with the community
\- it has an identity outside of crypto
\- it’s still extremely small compared to most meme coins people chase after they already pumped
Most low-cap meme coins are interchangeable. Dog, frog, cat, repeat.
PINEOWL at least has something authentic behind it, which is becoming rarer in this space.
I’m not claiming this is the next DOGE or PEPE. Odds are against any meme coin making it long term. But if you look at the ones that actually break through, they usually have some combination of:
\- recognizable meme identity
\- community persistence
\- organic sharing outside crypto circles
\- cultural history people connect with
That’s the angle here.
Very small market cap, active community, established meme, and still largely undiscovered outside niche circles.
Worth a look if you’re into early meme plays on Ethereum.

In August 2020, someone called Ryoshi launched Shiba Inu with $3,000 of liquidity on Uniswap. No presale, no VC money, no team tokens, only a dog memecoin as an alternative to DOGE.

Then Ryoshi did something nobody expected, sent 50% of all SHIB to Vitalik Buterin without asking, and it turned into one of crypto's most iconic moments. Important to say that Vitalik burned most of the tokens and donated the rest to India's COVID relief fund.

The name Ryoshi means "fisherman" in Japanese. Nobody knows if it's one person or a group. In May 2022, everything connected with Ryoshi was deleted - all blog posts, all tweets, and the creator disappeared. The last message was: "I am not important, and one day I will be gone without notice. Take the SHIB and journey upwards frens"

The project kept building after the founder vanished with ShibaSwap, Shibarium, metaverse, NFTs appearance. The project that was built by someone who called themselves nobody.

Soon enough because nobody really has to if you just put the AI in charge. What do you think department of DOGE was? Fire all the DMV employees and replace em with ATM DMV machines at the supermarket. Fire the tax man and replace em with software it’s twice as efficient. Fire the whole twitter team and just run it with 3 people is the mentality of what they am trying to do with the Feds. Give the power (or better said: expenses) back to the states!
