Those numbers are 100% BULLSHIT.
You know why, because pricing has increased (in the particular good I am referring to) almost 400% over 6 years.
IF inflation actually aligned to those numbers (which they don't), then prices would be up a grand total of 28.6%. They are MOST DEFINITELY much more than that.

Prices on literally EVERYTHING is higher than that, except our pay. My pay raises are capped at 3% annually for all functional purposes. Which is why I swapped jobs and was able to make more, but MOST can't. 1.03^6 = 1.194 or 19%. THAT is if they get that EVERY year, which I promise you, again, MOST aren't. (the number of people that have gotten 0% raises or 1% (I got a 2% for two of the years, thus new job)
I am making NEARLY double and I feel much tighter on my budget today than I did in 2020.

Lets look at COKE, a 12 pack. 2020, regularly getting 4-12 packs for ~$10. Today, $11 a single 12 pack. Their sales are "buy 3 get 1 free", regularly. Adjust for number of years.
2020 - 2026, so 6 years. Base price, ~$3 vs $10.
That is literally a 50% cost increase PER YEAR for a 4 12packs, and for 1-12pack, price is 55% per year.
