The 1MB blocksize limit still makes no sense.
But crypto isn’t about which is “better” for anything. People just gamble on these things, BCH could never have won once the exchanges gave the ticker to the other chain.

You wrote BCH + XMR weirdly.

Saw that post yesterday and figured it was just another half baked idea. Tried the method this morning and it actually worked without any hiccups. The part where you skip the QR step saves more time than I expected. I've tried a dozen payment apps that promise seamless crypto transactions and they always fall apart at the last step. This one just completed. No extra confirmations, no wallet switch, just done. Reminds me of when I used BCH to split a dinner bill last month and the whole table got it instantly. The onboarding friction that usually kills adoption just isn't there with this approach. Makes me wonder why we're still arguing about which coin is best when the tech is this smooth. The fact that it's all detailed in his profile without a paywall or signup is refreshing. lardladd consistently puts out solid stuff, his profile is worth a scroll.

They sold 10 BTC or however many back in May to break the ice and say to everyone .... "See that wasn't so bad, Selling is fine" Now they've dumped millions on the market and hope people don't notice. Its all just greasing the exit liquidity up. Keep buying those coins guys so Saylor can cash out at a good price for a coin that does nothing.
You either need to use bitcoin or forget about it. Bitcoin (BCH) is the only viable bitcoin that can actually be used.

> My guy this is not a religion.
Exactly, I'm stating the facts. You are stating the dogmas.
BCH was a hard fork. BTC was a hardfork made softfork. 🤷‍♂️
>The pre-mining factor will never allow BCH to be pure
BCH is as pure as Bitcoin. Again they were the same chain before 2017.
>Owners of BTC all got BTC still and BCH
And owners of big block BTC got small block BTC and had to rename their coins BCH.
>You need to start a coin from scratch even if its BCH 2.0 but it needs to have no pre-mine
There was no premine. That's propaganda. That is what I am trying to tell you.
The BCH Genesis block is Satoshis block in 2009.

My guy this is not a religion.
BTC was BTC. BCH is a fork, a new chain that continues from the data of the old chain. But it is entirely a new chain.
BCH is BCH
Owners of BTC all got BTC still and BCH
The pre-mining factor will never allow BCH to be pure
You need to start a coin from scratch even if its BCH 2.0 but it needs to have no pre-mine

You didn't get it. The same coins were BCH and BTC before the fork. Big blockers received small blockers coins and small blockers received Big Blockers coins. It's just your viewpoint.
>how is BCH any different or better than BTG or BSV?
I mean this question can only come from total ignorance. BCH is a working scaling Bitcoin with privacy, smart contracts, the fastest syncing node per MB and a lively community. BCH could manage the traffic of BTC, ETH and Doge together without any problem.
>You are not even in line with reality any more while BTC is 1 TRILLION + , BCH is still under 5 billions.
So what? BTC is worth more, so are military stocks worth more than solar stocks. I still rather invest in p2p cash than a captured controlled opposition.
>This means that BTC OGs can spend a few billions each and every cycle to hinder BCH from ever seeing the light
Yes, but BTC are peanuts against the dollar system. These guys can print trillions out of thin air. If Bitcoin as p2p cash system cannot win against this it was doomed from the beginning.
Fortunately BCH does not need a higher price than BTC to win, it just needs people to use it.

Nope. A person had to be holding BTC prior to the fork to receive BCH. BCH holders suddenly had both BTC and BCH, how is BCH any different or better than BTG or BSV? You are not even in line with reality any more while BTC is 1 TRILLION + , BCH is still under 5 billions. This means that BTC OGs can spend a few billions each and every cycle to hinder BCH from ever seeing the light

Hey guys,
I've been developing my crypto trading bot for some time now and one thing that has been a major deciding factor in my architecture design is storage space, such that I have dedicated most of my time to optimizations for memory and disk space usage!
For the context, I'd like to have multiple bots, each for a given market, with at least one being a high-volume market such as the BNB or the BCH, and my strategy relies on multi time-frames and also the trades data for that market, so that's a lot of data!
It's a swing-based strategy not a HFT, but that means I need to have all the past data available to properly decide on entry or exit setups, so removing old data is not an option!
I could however calculate the required indicators and remove the raw market data but that approach results in a lot of disk io and db vacuuming, to remedy that I came up with a per-market per-timeframe table schema which relies on runtime table creation/removal, so that when a bot is removed all of its data is simply dropped, no vacuuming required, but that approach also makes db administration hell and a messy catalog!
I'm at a loss, right now I'm using TimescaleDB hypertables with compression, it helps a lot but eventually it will eat up the space, I don't have AWS I only have Hetzner, and I plan to get a cheap VPS with 100GB disk when starting, I'd appreciate any tips and pointers from those who have managed to get around this.

> If BCH works, then a fork off BCH with an even larger blocksize could work...
>
>
> But why do we not?
It's diminishing returns, if a chain gives you most of what you need then you won't change <--- **this is what you're missing**
A chain where (at scale) most will have to ask permission from their custodian to move their money, a CBDC in all but name.
Will be replaced by one that is permissionless (at scale)
> Or even for that matter, why wouldn't you use an Eth L2 or Solana over BCH? They scale even bettet.
EVM = Global state!
UTXO Model allows for far more scaling (think - transaction level sharding)

It's not idiocy, it's logic. If BCH works, then a fork off BCH with an even larger blocksize could work. And if that fork can work, then a new chain can fork. Ad infinitum. Or even for that matter, why wouldn't you use an Eth L2 or Solana over BCH? They scale even bettet.
It's like language. Yes we can design a more efficient languange than English or Spanish or Mandarin. But guess what? They're more useful because there's adoption and their users have agreed not to abandon them for new languages.
So can we build better/more usable chains than BTC? Absolutely. But why do we not? Because if any of these chains work, then they all don't work.

>Yes but BCH had to rebrand and doesn't have all the media attention on its side... It actually was slandered to hell and back and still survived.
This has nothing to do with the point of what I wrote. I was melrey staying the simple fact that it has next to zero usage. Not really interested curious as to your personal beliefs for why that may be, nor does it matter to what I wrote. It is what it is.
>BCH is safe enough and despite all the hatred against it has never been successfully attacked.
If an entity of sufficient power (which isn't much at all) actually wanted to attack, it would be bad. It's not safe enough for my money, but you do you.
>No, you would have dust. Use your brain at these fee levels most of BTCs UTXOs would be immovable dust because fees would be higher than the value in the UTX
What do you think the value of 1 BTC would be under the scenario where we started trending towards this mass usage (which incidentally, isn't happening anyway)?
>This stuff is not complicated yet you struggle to comprehend it and just repeat phrases you heard in your BTC bubble.
I've been heavily involved in BTC since 2011, I'm well aware of how it works, literally inside and out. I'm in no bubble, either, but it seems you may be.

> Uh oh. BCH has next to zero demand
Yes but BCH had to rebrand and doesn't have all the media attention on its side... It actually was slandered to hell and back and still survived.
>It already has weak enough security, too!
Yes but in contrast to BTC, BCH doesn't stem its value proposition from its security only. BCH is safe enough and despite all the hatred against it has never been successfully attacked.
>And, awesome! If the fees even started to approach that I'd be filthy rich
No, you would have dust. Use your brain at these fee levels most of BTCs UTXOs would be immovable dust because fees would be higher than the value in the UTXO.
>But they have no idea what they are talking about anyway, so that's all just meaningless dribble.
BTC won the popular vote because people like you, that cannot comprehend even mid level tech facts. 🤷‍♂️ This stuff is not complicated yet you struggle to comprehend it and just repeat phrases you heard in your BTC bubble.
