Adding to the exchange suggestion above: your withdrawal history on the exchange shows the exact address you sent ADA to. Put that one address into cardanoscan and it links to the stake address, which lists every address and the full balance of that wallet. So a single old receiving address is enough to see your whole wallet even with the app dead. You never sign or type a seed phrase for any of this, it's all public chain data.

This isn’t a bear market… ADA is sitting in a grave covering itself with dirt. I say this as a bag holder with a lot of ADA that I’m just riding into the ground.

In case You transferred ADA from an online platform then those keep records for years and years. Wallet address would be visible. Then punch it into cardanoscan and see any linked addresses, funds and withdrawals.

That ~16M ADA figure is a rough number to see in a single incident

>Dear Cardano Community,
>Our teams continue to work around the clock alongside some of the smartest technical minds in the Cardano ecosystem to work on an onchain recovery process. Thanks to these efforts, tremendous progress has been made and a viable solution remains on-track. We are grateful for their support.
>Alongside this, we are developing an onchain claims portal to facilitate the return of assets.
>DO NOT delete the App and keep your seed phrase safe to more efficiently enable recovery. For now, submit a ticket at [support.secondfi.io](http://support.secondfi.io/)
>**Further Progress**
>Today, we released the official Asset Recovery Wallet Checker at [checker.secondfi.io](https://checker.secondfi.io/), so you may verify whether you are impacted. It will never ask you to sign a transaction. If any tool does, it is not ours and should be treated as fraudulent.
>Our commitment remains unequivocal: to support the return of assets to all affected wallet holders across 4 distinct wallet draining events, in their original form.

Three of these events were executed by external threat actors, resulting in a loss of \~16M ADA. EMURGO has set up a recovery fund address to return assets to the victims of the attack.
>You can find the address here:
>addr1qyvvn9e9ulvzw2nvgkwraxwrla4a28l7gmduk7jru2rw9kdxkls8aczwgg8u44nj87uaq50rgcjulcxtzv9q8j0g2lss9kv2ss
>Notably, assets recovered by white hats (including the 4th event) are accessible and safely held. These will be part of the recovery effort to return assets to affected users.
>**Commitment to Transparency**
>Independent auditors are currently reviewing our systems and validating our findings. We intend to share those reports once finalised. Premature releases may result in misinformation or tip off threat actors. We appreciate your patience.

**WebX Tokyo**
>As a commitment to our user base, our team will be at WebX in Tokyo, to answer questions on how to migrate to other wallet platforms using hardware devices. Details to follow ahead of the event for those who wish to seek out this guidance and support.
>**Important Security Reminder**
>SecondFi will NEVER request private keys, seed phrases, wallet credentials, or wallet access. No recovery actions requiring user participation have begun. Any message instructing you to transfer assets or share wallet information outside our official channels should be treated as fraudulent. The only action required right now is to submit a ticket at [support.secondfi.io](https://support.secondfi.io/).
>**Our Commitment**
>Trust at moments like this is built through action, not assurance. Every decision we're making has one objective: returning assets safely to every affected user, as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time. ['@secondfiapp](https://x.com/@secondfiapp) / ['@secondfi\_jp](https://x.com/@secondfi_jp) remains the official channel for all updates.

It's just another cycle and the next altcoin bullrun starts soon (within next 3 to 4 months).
The last run happened in 2024, but only SOL made gains and caused dilution with shitcoins, which destroyed the gains of other main blockchain altcoins.
I only count the main blockchain currencies as altcoins. I don't include memecoins and shitcoins.
This coming altcoin season will return to tech and good projects will rise. Narratives never repeat, so don't go too heavy into SOL cause most of us are still pissed for it messing up last cycle.
SUI, ICP, TAO, RENDER, AVAX but also goats like ETH, ADA and VET might be good picks.
Fuck memecoins.
Fuck Trump!
Enjoy the coming altcoin season. 🤟

Definitely, man. I've been holding BTC for a while but built a strong ADA position starting in late 2022 through recently with this dip. I am more of a BTC maxi, as mentioned, but there is wild upside potential from here.

I personally don't own it but I do agree with you. The thing is it's still relevant in the space, most alts honestly tank hardcore and fade into oblivion. Polygon/Matic for instance was in the top 20, maybe even top 10, way back in 2021 and now look at it lol.
I am a BTC maxi but have had positions in ETH and ADA for a while.

Hell id even take ADA and XRP out of that mix. Xrp is so heavily manipulated its not funny. Its an overhyped meme coin in a fancy package. Ripple controls so fking much if it and hypes it so much that you gotta look at it for what it is. They'll probably pump it from a dollar quite a ways. But only so they can dump their bags on everyone again, and repeat. I hate xrp, it gives crypto a bad name.

\*IF\* you can afford to completely lose the money - I would say buying \*some\* XRP, Hedera, or ADA etc is a very good idea (particularly now with everything dipping hard). And honestly worth the high risk if you have the discipline to take profits and not get greedy praying to 1000000x.
But most of your crypto investments should be BTC or ETH.

for clarification:
If it is the only thing tracked on the chain, it is a coin. If the dogecoin blockchain says you have 5.00 you have 5.00 dogecoin. It cannot be anything else.
If the blockchain has packages that tell you what they are, like on ETH, ADA, SOL, etc. where you can create your own chain, that is running on the underlying blockchain, it is a token. Because the blockchain itself could not tell you from a single number, what it is that you have.
The main difference is, that when the blockchain does nothing but support your one coin, 100% of the hashing power can be used to provide a service. On a token chain, compeeting sub-tokens can drive up the price of the underlying token, affecting your own hash rate and operational cost. They will always be depending on the underlying chain. "Meme Coin"-Token are a good example here, where the first generation that ran on ETH is almost forgotten and the second wave on SOL has also lost steam.
If you want a currency, you want a blockchain that can support that volume.

Here are the top 10 coins with active market cap > $10B (including stablecoins). Either bottom is in or more major altcoins will die.
If you go 3 years back (peak bear market before meme mania started with PEPE), we can see there were 9 coins above $10B
https://preview.redd.it/no7yarginoah1.png?width=2086&format=png&auto=webp&s=6a980cad7f99b9121138eb144b345213a4078ec6
We can see some interesting things:
\- BTC added $700B in these 3 years to its market cap
\- USDT grew by $100B (over 100%)
\- USDC grew by $30B (over 100%)
\- Dogecoin was almost "stable" and it's back where it was
\- ADA, Polygon => they kind of died and not in top 10 anymore
\- ETH is down despite WallStreet buying $20 billions ...

What is your opinion on this? After SecondFi is online again i was thinking about moving all my Yoroi ADA there, in theory is still in my posession and i feel its safer than just keeping it in a wallet since Etoro can also stake

Thanks a lot for the explanation! The distinction between routing through the L1 versus Midnight needing its own lightweight endpoint is exactly the kind of detail I've been trying to pin down. I will read the docs to learn more about it :)
It's literally so exciting to see how these technologies like Leios, Peras, IOG's Real Finance and Pogun (Bitcoin DeFi), and now Pyth and LayerZero integration can reshape Cardano and potentially make it even bigger what Bitcoin currently is.
The LayerZero integration is obviously a big one because we will no longer be an island and that opens up so many new possibilities in the future. But what I'm trying to wrap my head around are the downstream benefits. For example, if another L1 network wanted to communicate with Midnight for its privacy features, the traffic would route through Cardano's settlement layer, which would inherently generate transaction volume and fees on the Cardano L1 and contribute to growing the TVL. If we were to have more partner chains this could essentially be very good way for our TVL.

I am also thinking if IOG's Pogun initiative for Bitcoin DEFI can be somehow combined with the LayerZero integration; if a user on Eth or Solana wanted to access Bitcoin Defi throug Pogun, for example for increased security, they would be routed through Cardano via LayerZero. Add Midnight's privacy layer on top of that and we got a scenario where isn't just a settlement layer but rather an intermediary that other chains have to route through to access Bitcoin liquidity and privacy features. And with Babel fees, users wouldn't even need to hold ADA at the protocol level, it could make the whole experience seamless for chain users while still generating native demand for ADA. Unless I'm completely off here, this could be a compounding effect on transaction volume and ADA demand that I think is being underestimated.

Honestly, man, unless you are highly experienced in this market you are better off just buying BTC. It's way simpler and the CAGR, compound annual growth rate, completely blows all other assets out of the water, it's actually insane. Think about it this way, for alts to do good BTC needs to do good. When BTC falls, alts fall way harder.
With that said, this is honestly a fantastic time to be take a shot at alts right now. ETH was at 5k less than a year ago, ADA was trading at almost $1 and Sol was at $240. There are fantastic swing trade opportunities with these and they aren't going anywhere. The only alts I personally would touch are ETH, ADA, XRP, Sol and maybe Link or XLM.

Only people that say that are the ones that have joined cults… just wait until you run across the subset that believe BSV is the only true bitcoin and Craig Wright is the true Satoshi.
Fucking wild I tell you.
I’ll say this… I’ve traveled the world just using crypto for payments. Was able to pay for lodging, transportation, food, entertainment, and even bail with BTC across South America, Africa, Asia, and some parts of Europe and North America. About 35% of places took ETH. About 5% took ADA and BNB, about 1% took BCH… that ought to tell you something.
