It's great. Each time I see someone complaining about their account being blocked they are using a personal account for business which triggers money laundry checks.
As long as you use it within the accepted TOS, it's safe.
Just be careful transferring large chunks of money in general, might trigger checks

The opening bell spread problem you’re describing is super common and honestly one of the more annoying gaps in retail platforms. ThinkOrSwim is powerful but the conditional order logic is clunky for exactly what you’re trying to do — the 10:15am workaround you built manually is actually smart, you’ve essentially recreated a time-conditional trailing stop by hand.
For someone with trading experience but no coding background, a few options worth knowing:
**Tradovate / Webull** have more flexible conditional order types if you’re primarily in options and want something cleaner than TOS without touching code.
**Composer** is worth looking at — it lets you build systematic strategies with a no-code interface and actually executes them. Good for rule-based approaches.
I’d also point you to something I built called **Rebuild Trading** (rebuildtrading.com) — it’s designed exactly for experienced traders who want systematic, rules-based tools without needing to code. Signal scanning, trade journal, portfolio management — all in one place. It’s in beta right now with free access if you want to check it out.
On the Theta Data question — great choice for options data quality, though for pure equity signal scanning there are lighter options depending on what you’re trying to track.
What’s the core strategy you’re trying to automate? Trailing stops on options positions specifically, or broader entry/exit rules?

Thanks Mobius. That is Definity what it sounds like but I am being careful not to do that. I restarted TOS and it seems to be working better but not perfect.

Every platform with an AI feature is training on your data. Read the TOS. If the product is free or cheap, you are the product.

I am using 32 GB no need to use more, also if you have more than 4 external TOS windows you should use a second instance of TOS and off load a second layout. That should give you better performance. I run 10 screens with 2 instances sometimes 3.

TOS dropped nested OCO support a few updates back. That screenshot is ancient

> I recommend pinning this post!
You are aware that telling people how to avoid their fees due to a contract loophole on Revolut's side is, in itself, a TOS violation?
Now that this post is up, I expect for the trick to go like with getting an exclusive card design without staying on a plan : rapidly patched.

Why does my TOS can't load two free bookmaps data?

Just opened the TOS platform and stocks are showing delayed. Is this normal for overnight trading or is there some setting that I am missing. I’m moving over to Charles Schwab for overnight trading but if quotes aren’t live, I will need to move elsewhere.
Any help would be appreciated

I created several scanners on TOS, I pulled up YouTube videos to create mine. They showed how to do it

I’ve been on all of them. TOS is the best. We will see.

0 chance nothing has changed. I've worked with TOS for 13+ years and its only recently that deleting just one or two custom studies can cause it to freeze up for 5mins plus. In volatile market times, the lag has been skyrocketing. Share your vmoptions settings so we can at least see if there isn't a custom line that others might be missing.

I used to be a windows fan. Then the advertising on their bruiser didn’t make me happy. I switched to iMac and I phone and never looked back. It’s been great with TOS on both.

Mark and Last just abt the same, few times off by FEW cents ex NVDA 211.52 vs 211.54 @:19
Again this is what was suggested to me at TOS because of whatever problems they were having, with the data ever since the PDT rule change - it has nothing to do with changing workspace, restarting a machine

I have been using the TOS desktop app since the Schwab migration. Lately the platform runs slower and slower throughout the day, becoming more and more laggy as the day goes on. I close the program, clear cache, reboot, etc. Nothing seems to help. Is everyone experiencing this? It is taking over 30 seconds just for the program to close.
Machine should not be the issue, and I have seen a steady decline in the programs performance over the past couple months.
Thanks for any input/suggestions.

TOS has one of the steepest fee structures. Unless you really like something about their UI you will automatically be making more money (ie paying less) on IBKR.

IBKR is better for cost (commissions, margin rates, FX) and product range (futures, options chains, international). TOS is better for charting, news integration, and ondemand thinkscript. most traders end up using both: TOS for analysis, IBKR for execution. switch when fees actually matter at your size.
