iShares was willing to create XTOT to replace XUU last year, and given both XUU/XAW have similar AUMs, they should be able to justify a similar move. Let's see which one comes first: (i) a new ex-Canada fund or (ii) a new total world fund.

I think it's just a matter of time until someone creates it. If iShares does, I don't think they will use XAW due to the relatively messy state of the US equity exposure in that fund. I imagine they'd use XTOT, XIC, XEF, and XEC to create it. Ideally though they'd just buy all of the stocks within the new fund directly without using any other ETFs as that's the cleanest solution.

Agreed! Clearly they believe in the demand for 97% XEQT + 3% IBIT in a single fund, so why not 97% XAW + 3% XIC too.
