I did! the stock JBFCF is $4 and fidelity wants to charge me a $50 foreign settlement fee for it which brings the price of single stock up to $54! Thats why I am asking for alternatives because this ain't it! Fidelity is great for all other stocks that are American but for this one stock that I really want to have it wants to charge me way too much...

Hello everyone! I'm new to investing and could really use your advice.
There's a foreign company (Jollibee) I'm interested in buying stocks from and there are two options: an official OTC stock that is trading at about $4 (JBFCF) and an ADR that’s unsupported (JBFCY), currently priced around $18.
HOWEVER, Fidelity is charging a $50 (!!!) foreign settlement fee for the OTC stock, making my total investment $54 for a $4 stock, which is insane to me. I'm eager to invest in this company as a long term investor because of its significant growth potential in the U.S. and international markets. Should I not invest with fidelity in foreign stocks because of this heavy foreign settlement fee?? Are there alternatives? What do you all think? Any inside is very appreciated! Thank you!

Yes I have read that the ADR represents 4 of the original stocks. The stocks I am referring to are the ones from Jollibee which are JBFCF (the OTC) and JBFCY (the ADR).
I am very new to investing. I know that buying a stock through an ADR is really just a bundle of stocks that is owned by a third party while when I would own the OTC stock I would own an actual stock from the company. I might be wrong of course. I just know that I really want to invest long time I this company and don’t know which way would be the best…
